MAHWAH, NJ (September 30, 2024): The 2025 Volvo EX90 SUV has been named the Luxury Green Car of the Year as part of Green Car Journal’s 2025 Green Car of the Year awards. Volvo Cars’ flagship electric EV is one of six vehicles recognized this year as the most environmentally positive and efficient offerings on the market.
Each year, experts at Green Car Journal evaluate new, electrified or hybrid vehicle models that champion greater efficiency and environmental impact.
“Volvo’s new electric EX90 is superlative in so many ways, the result of a long history of creative thinking at Volvo and an ongoing exploration of what’s possible in the electric vehicle realm,” said Ron Cogan, editor and publisher of Green Car Journal and GreenCarJournal.com. “EX90 is an ideal fusion of design, tech, and luxury that brings an appealing premium vehicle with zero emissions to the highway, without sacrificing the core of what has always made a Volvo special along the way.”
“The Volvo EX90 embodies a new era for Volvo Cars,” said Mike Cottone, President, Volvo Car USA and Canada. “As a company deeply committed to sustainability, Volvo Cars is proud to be recognized for helping lead the charge toward an electrified future.”
Built in the U.S., the three-row, all-electric Volvo EX90 SUV represents Volvo’s most premium driving experience to date, highlighted by a responsibly sourced premium interior cabin, the latest in-car technology and of course, class leading safety features. The 2025 Volvo EX90 has a starting MSRP of $79,995.
