[STOLEN] Missing Canadian 2019 Corvette ZR1 Found Stripped of Parts and Dumped on a Dirt Road

Canada was reportedly the home of just three Orange 2019 Corvette ZR1 Convertibles, which represented the pinnacle of front-engine Corvettes with a 755-horsepower V8.

Sadly, make that just two examples now after this Sebring Orange Tintcoat convertible was found stripped of most of its parts on a rural dirt road this week in Clearview Township near Barrie, Ontario, Canada.

“We do have the odd old chair and couch thrown out here, but this is the first time I saw a car,” explained a man who wishes to remain unidentified after he came across the shell of the car lying in the road Wednesday morning.

However, another local resident named Ashley Zemlanko says two other cars have also been dumped in the area in the past month, explaining: “There was a white car, a shell of a car, just dropped off on the side of the road, and not too long before that, there was another one on the same road.”

Niagara police say the ZR1 was stolen from a collector in Grimsby, Ont., on August 15, and they believe the stripped-down car was eventually dumped overnight Tuesday on Sideroad 9/10 Sunnidale near Concession Road 2 in New Lowell.

What remains of the Corvette – which is missing its engine, many body panels, and its entire interior – has been secured for forensic examination, Niagara police said in an email to CTV News. “We will be working with the OPP over the course of the ongoing investigation.”

CTV News says it remains unclear whether any suspects have been identified.
