Also looks like your Nivomats are shot, so it’s probably suspension time. Should be a fun project!
Agreed with you, that’ll be on the list. Speaking of the list…
– CEL from Catalytic converter, probably need a new one of those but OEM isn’t available and I’ve been told aftermarket is not great… also has an exhaust leak you can smell at stoplights.
– Thinks tailgate is open all the time, so no new remotes or key programming until that gets fixed, PO told me they slammed it closed on something once, so probable bad latch.
– HVAC dampers on the drivers side are all out of wack. I attempted to pull the defrost motor (thank god it’s not where it is in 850’s) and put it back, I ended up taking out the temperature control motor for the driver’s side instead. Rebuilt that incase, put it back, then grabbed the defrost motor, rebuilt that, only to then do the self-adjust using VIDA. Now the ecc only blinks and self adjust will not complete, reading about it tells me I may have bricked the ECC using that adjustment procedure…
– Engine torque mounts are all bad, this thing shakes and squeaks like a banshee from inside. Have all three on the way. Probably needs lowers too, but I’m not equipped for subframe service at the moment.
– Someone did an LED conversion on the headlights. They’re aimed pretty badly and one of them is missing the external cap, so it’s just open to air. Gonna hopefully look for a set of jewels in the future.
– Drivers door seems to be out further when closed than the rest of the car. The gap is wider on the top causing rain to get in at highway speeds (a couple drops). Probably gonna replace the latch assembly, it seems pretty tired.
– Driver’s lower door panel is separated from inner part, should be an easy fix there with some glue / repair.
– Replace headliner, drooping pretty good in the rear.
– Replace both rear shocks, replace both front struts as well.
– Find and address oil leaks from backside of engine, PDI missed this and did not say anything about it. Sadly one may be RMS but could be leak down from other areas.
– Stage 0, minus coils as those were completed recently with OEM Bosch units. Found this in the cabin filter.
– Fuel pump does not seem to be priming occasionally, replacing fuel pump relay before going for pump. Pump sounds louder than I am used to (again it’s been a while since I’ve had a wagon so it could just be that). Causes long crank condition occasionally after sitting, but will fire right back up after being warm. However this was an odd fuel line setup in the engine bay, never owned an RN car so I have no idea if this is something meddled with.
– Ocasional coolant smell from interior, so heater core is ordered. Did not notice any wet carpets or other signs.
– Timing belt and components in near future, most likely February or spring due to being done in 2014 at 106k miles.
– Paint correction and coating to prevent anything from happening during Wisconsin weather. I noticed some stress cracks on the hood, luckily classic red is a common color in case I need one.
But hey, it passed the glove test and it runs and drives! Got the GROM properly installed and wired as well. Priorities, people!
