Egemba Chinonso Fidelis didn’t just grow up wanting to be a doctor—he dreamed of becoming a healer of both people and perceptions. Born on October 26 in Nigeria, his journey into the world of medicine started with the relentless fire of purpose in his heart. Long before the internet would know him as Aproko Doctor, Chinonso was just a young boy determined to bridge the gap between medical knowledge and everyday understanding. His academic path took shape at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, where he earned his MBBS degree. There, he sharpened his mind, cultivated discipline, and laid the foundation for a career that would soon take a revolutionary turn. His first professional steps began in 2016 as a resident doctor at the Imo State University Teaching Hospital, but Chinonso wasn’t content with simply treating illnesses—he wanted to prevent them. He knew that too many people were dying not because help wasn’t available, but because they didn’t know when or how to seek it. In 2017, fueled by a deep belief that health education should be clear, accessible, and even humorous, he launched Aproko Doctor—a digital health platform that transformed complex medical advice into relatable, often entertaining, health nuggets. Using storytelling and wit, he began capturing attention on social media, turning casual scrollers into informed decision-makers. What started as tweets and short videos quickly grew into a health movement followed by millions. But Chinonso wasn’t finished. In 2020, he co-founded The 100K Club, a non-profit dedicated to helping Nigerians access critical healthcare. Through this initiative, he championed fundraising for medical emergencies, giving hope to those caught in a broken system. The same passion led him to Drink2School, a project he co-founded in 2024 to provide clean water to schoolchildren—knowing that wellness starts far beyond hospital walls.

By 2025, Chinonso stepped into a new chapter as co-founder of AwaDoc, a bold venture aimed at transforming healthcare access in Nigeria. And while building these impactful platforms, he also continued to work on the frontlines as a Medical Doctor at Avon Medical Practice, where he spent nearly four years treating patients and deepening his understanding of healthcare from both the clinic and the community level.

His vision for change didn’t stop at medicine. A natural communicator, Chinonso evolved into a sought-after public speaker, regularly appearing on BBC Africa, Wazobia TV, NTA, Rhythm FM and more, using every platform to amplify preventive health care and spark conversation around wellness.

In 2022, he even brought health advocacy to the screen, featuring in the Netflix film Strain—a moving story about Sickle Cell Anaemia awareness—where he acted alongside stars like Bimbo Akintola and Alex Usifo. This powerful fusion of entertainment and education was a reflection of his belief: the message will travel further if people can feel it.

Awards soon followed. From winning Health Influencer of the Year (PSHAN) to bagging multiple Trendupp and Pulse Influencer Awards, Chinonso’s work was not just seen—it was celebrated. His impact stretched far beyond likes and shares. He became a trusted voice, a digital doctor for a new generation.

He continued to expand his knowledge, pursuing a degree in Business Administration and earning a brand management qualification, skills he now uses to support startups in the healthcare space, helping them grow and reach communities in need.

Through his lifestyle initiative, Healthy Threads, Chinonso combined fashion with compassion. A portion of every sale supports the poor and sick, making style a tool for healing. Whether building brands, mentoring youth, or designing campaigns for rural outreach, Chinonso always brings the same mission: to empower, to educate, and to heal.

At his core, Chinonso is a man on a mission—to make healthcare simple, accessible, and human. Whether he’s sharing tips online, standing in front of a crowd, or treating patients one-on-one, he’s rewriting the future of healthcare in Africa with vision, passion, and a whole lot of heart.
