Having made its debut last week, the Zeekr 009 Grand Collector’s Edition is on display at the 2025 Shanghai Motor Show, where the battery-electric MPV brings even more luxury.
Building upon the Zeekr 009 Grand with its four-seat layout, where its two rear passengers get the full complement of space that would have been for the second- and third-row occupants in the three-row 009, the 009 Grand Collector’s Edition brings added gold detail trim – of genuine, 24-carat gold – to the luxury four-seater electric MPV.
The application of the precious metal is on the brand and model badges, as well as the self-righting wheel badges, and a total of three grams of 24-carat gold are used. These are complemented be painted accents, comprised of double pinstripes on the shoulder line, on the front and rear bumpers, side skirt and cant rail trim, and C-pillar inlays.
The outer rims of the 20-inch alloy wheels also get the gold-coloured accents, and the wheels get physical vapour deposition (PVD) that gives them the darkened chrome look.
While the display vehicle’s interior in Shanghai was not accessible at the time of our photographing, we know from prior official details that the 009 Grand Collector’s Edition gains a sprinkling of added luxury to further elevate it above the 009 Grand.
Inside, the 009 Grand Collector’s Edition gets gold interior trim instead of chrome on the 009 Grand, gold seat belts, a Zeekr monogram on each side of the 43-inch TV, and its carpets are made from Andean alpaca wool. Beyond that, interior hardware draws from that of the 009 Grand, which brings 24-way power-adjustable, business class-style seats with heating, cooling and massage functions and aniline leather upholstery.
Also on are an eight-inch rear tablet, a leather-trimmed fold-out table, crystal switchgear, an 18-litre refrigerator, electrochromic rear side windows, a 31-speaker, 3,000-watt Yamaha audio, and a one-touch privacy mode that darkens the rear glass and raises the electrochromic frosting divider between the front and rear occupants.
In terms of powertrain, the 009 Grand Collector’s Edition is carried over from the 009 Grand, where a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup packs 789 PS and 810 Nm to propel the luxury MPV from 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, and on to a top speed of 230 km/h.
This luxury electric MPV gets a 108 kWh battery that offers a claimed 702 km of range on the lenient CLTC testing standard, though this can be expected to yield around 500 km of range in the real world, when referenced against the 116 kWh of the Malaysian-market 009 that offers 582 km of range on the WLTP testing standard.
For charging, the 009 Grand is claimed to support 5C charging, where C is a multiple of the vehicle’s battery capacity; this should mean its DC fast charging capability is over 500 kW. In China, the Zeekr 009 Grand Collector’s Edition is priced at 899,000 yuan (RM539,459).
