  • The Hamba is a one-off paramilitary off-roader based on a Ford F-150 platform.
  • The creation is powered by a 420 hp 5.0-liter Mustang V8 and a 10-speed auto.
  • USSV previously built cars for Fast and Furious and went all-out with the Hamba.

It’s not every day you see a vehicle that makes you pause mid-scroll and wonder if it came from a movie set or a backyard experiment. The USSV Hamba, strange as it may look, is in fact a paramilitary-inspired off-roader built on the bones of a Ford F-150.

Recently featured in an episode from YouTuber Raiti’s Rides, it was created by US Specialty Vehicles, the same company behind vehicles that appeared in several Fast and Furious films.

Just a single example of the USSV Hamba exists, and three years ago it was sold at a Barrett-Jackson auction. It has now reappeared for sale at Jacobs Mitsubishi in Florida, which previously listed it on eBay for $79,000 without finding a buyer. Compared to creations from brands like Rezvani and Dartz, the Hamba makes those seem almost luxurious by contrast.

Despite sharing its chassis with a Ford F-150, the Hamba is a relatively compact two-door with custom body panels seemingly influenced by fighter jets or armored vehicles. Its styling is unusual to say the least, complete with oversized window surrounds and unconventional taillights. The proportions may be smaller, but the curb weight exceeds that of a standard F-150.

Mustang Power

While the looks leave a lot to be desired, the Hamba does have an impressive powertrain. It’s the same 5.0-liter naturally-aspirated V8 you’ll find in a Ford Mustang, rated at 420 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque, mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Given its weight, it’s probably not very quick, but it does sound good.

A peek inside reveals that much of the Hamba is just like a standard F-150. However, US Specialty Vehicles did go to the trouble of wrapping the seats in plush new red leather. They also re-trimmed the door panels with black leather and red contrast stitching, and applied soft-touch Alcantara to the inner door panels and headliner.

There’s also an aftermarket Alpine headunit and a retrimmed steering wheel. Weirdly, the front center console has been removed. This being a two-door, it’s perhaps no surprise that space in the rear is extremely limited.

} else {

}
});

The Hamba’s journey from a one-off auction star to its current spot in a Florida showroom makes it a rare find. Its mix of eccentric styling, familiar mechanicals, and custom craftsmanship may not be for everyone, but it’s certainly unlike anything else on the road.
