The Enthusiast Auction will also present the all no-reserve Zimmerman Automobile Driving Museum Collection. As the only museum in the country whose cars were used on a weekly basis to give guests rides, this collection has given enthusiasts an authentic driving experience in the SoCal area for years. Proceeds from the sale will fund an ongoing scholarship program for automotive students, a real opportunity to buy a very cool car for a great cause. A crowning jewel of the Museum since its opening is a rare and highly collectable 1940 Packard Darrin 180 Victoria Convertible, driven and admired in the exclusive 2004 and 2013 Pasadena Tournament of Roses and seen by millions in the 2020 Emmy-winning Netflix series, “Hollywood.”
Also offered at no reserve is The Great Outdoors Collection, a carefully curated group of vehicles intended for adventure use, assembled with keen attention to mechanical reliability. Highlights include an iconic, triple-black 1959 Chevrolet El Camino, with desirable factory 348 Tri-Power V-8 engine paired with a four-speed manual transmission, the recipient of a body-off-the-frame restoration by Tim Stanley.
“Auburn’s growth as a serious year-round destination for the sale and acquisition of great collector cars has never been more evident,” said John Kruse, Principal and Auctioneer. “We’re looking forward to welcoming collectors back for another great Enthusiast Week, to a bigger-than-ever sale with a very significant no-reserve offering, and for the Enthusiast Tour, an event that gives many of us here in the Midwest the first chance to get our cars out again in the springtime and enjoy them.”
