- Get out of the car safely

- Take photos
Take photos of the cars and the damage sustained. It may also be useful to take some of the surrounding area where the accident happened and of the road conditions. Anything that could be relevant to a claim should be photographed.
- Seek medical attention
If an ambulance hasn’t been needed to attend, it’s still important to visit your doctor or the local emergency room to get checked out. Once you’re home and settled, the next steps after an accident involve contacting your insurance company. Provide only the facts and key details, and avoid admitting any fault.
