Even though the first one was famously based on a Lincoln, there’s always been a unique comradery between the (mostly) fictional Batmobile and the Chevrolet Corvette, as evidenced by the six pages of archived “bat” articles on this ‘Vette specialty site! Last week, Wayne Enterprises announced that it’ll sell a limited batch of officially licensed and fully operational duplicates of one of the most famous, beloved, and outrageous of the Caped Crusader’s many vehicles of choice.
If you ever wanted a Tumbler “Bat-Tank” from the wildly successful and popular trilogy of Dark Knight films from Christopher Nolan, this might be your chance, provided you have Wayne-level cash and connections! Built by Action Vehicle Engineering, this limited run of 10 units will feature General Motors LS3 power. The stout and dependable 6.2 that started it all for the now ubiquitous displacement has been modded to 525 naturally-aspirated HP for duty in the streets of Gotham.

That monster mill is paired with a paddle-shifted 4L85E transmission, and the cockpit features five-point racing harnesses, left-hand-drive with one passenger seat, a digital dash with dual 10-inch Lowrance GPS screens, a black Alcantara headliner, one-way mirrored glass, and even air conditioning! There is also a working smoke screen system, but, unfortunately, for any would-be vigilantes out there, the gun turrets are cosmetic only, and the Tumbler isn’t street legal.
If you are interested in the world’s coolest display piece/way to get around your property, inquiries are open now, but are also listed as “invite only,” so make of that link and statement what you will. What does seem to be set in stone is the price they’ll charge the ten customers who do step up: $3,000,000, which looks like a decent value when you consider the nearly $4 million that Ferrari is charging for the way more mainstream F80 hypercar!
