Volvo Car USA and Canada reports sales of 35,916 in the first quarter of 2025

MAHWAH, NJ (Apr. 2, 2025) – Volvo Car USA and Canada reports sales of 35,916 cars for the first quarter of the year, up 7 percent over the same period last year. Electrified models—those with a fully electric or plug-in hybrid powertrain—increased 12.2 percent compared to the same period last year and accounted for 29.3 percent of sales during the first quarter of the year.

First quarter sales for 2025 in the United States reached 33,285 cars, up 7.5 percent over the same period last year. Electrified models represented 28.4 percent of sales, an increase of 16.8 percent compared with the same period last year.

In Canada, sales were up 0.2 percent over the same period last year, with a volume of 2,631 cars for the quarter. Sales of electrified models accounted for 40.5 percent; a decrease of 16.9 percent compared with the same period last year.

In the US and Canada, the XC60 compact luxury SUV was the top selling model with 13,317 cars sold during the first quarter of 2025, followed by the XC90 midsize luxury SUV (10,206 cars) and XC40 small luxury SUV (7,239 cars). The XC60 also set a new sales record in the month of March with 5,556 cars.
