The Corvette engineering team returned to the Nürburgring this week with three separate models to test and two appointments for ‘Ring history planned later this month.
In the Chevy stable is the Z06, ZR1, and the ZORA, and this video focuses on the two hybrid performance models in attendance. No matter what Chevy decides to call it, X or ZR1e (which they removed as a model reference from their systems), the ZORA is our preferred name until at least Tuesday when Chevy makes it official.
This video focuses on the two ZORAs at the track, one in Hysteria Purple Metallic with curious Z06 badging, while the other is a Competition Yellow Corvette with ZR1 badges. Our first pics of the Hysteria car showed it without the American Flag graphic on the frunk’s waterfall, but in the video below you will see it has been added. They do look good and we’re hoping Chevy makes the flag graphic an option.

Our spy photographer managed to capture the Hysteria Split Window Corvette driving on public roads as it was headed to the track. The Yellow Hybrid sticker is clearly visible on the engine hatch as well on the video below.
Both cars also have downward-facing exhaust and my overall impression is they are not overly loud as they go by as the twin-turbo LT7 makes more of a whoosh than a roar as it goes by. Later in the video, I noticed both the Purple car (1:01 timestamp) and then the Yellow car (1:11 timestamp) leaving a trail of Michelin’s Cup2 R rubber on the road as they were flying through some turns.

As the Purple ZORA returns to Chevy’s secret lair, he passes the Accelerate Yellow Corvette Z06 as its heading out of the facility. It’s a quick video at only 1:55 but worth the watch!

Sound on! I have taken a new spy video of the upcoming Chevrolet Corvette Zora during some hot laps on the Nürburgring. The Americans are back at the Nürburgring and ready to set some new lap records later this month.
The new hybrid powered Zora is a mixture of the Corvette ZR1 and E-Ray power and will be launched 17th of June 2025 at the Corvette X event. The official name hasn’t been confirmed, but I expect Zora or ZR1e.
My Youtube Channel CarSpyMedia focuses on high quality car spy videos that only show the model mentioned in the title. I do not show any scenes twice and therefore want to stand out from other spy video channels.
One of the interesting things my friend in Germany tells me is that the official production car lap records are notarized and entered on the official list. However, a manufacturer can only drive for an official sports car lap record on the Nürburgring if the car has been officially revealed, as the ZORA is expected to be on Tuesday, June 17th. Otherwise, it falls into the prototypes and pre-production class.
