While the long-running MotorWeek TV show has recently tested the 2024 Corvette Z06 and the performance-hybrid 2024 Corvette E-Ray, they return in this easily-digestible video with the formula that started it all for the C8 generation – the 2025 Corvette Stingray Z51 Coupe.
The Z51 Stingray Coupe is more than just a base C8, and there is still plenty of excitement for those who want to explore the 495-hp LT2 V8 engine and 8-speed dual-clutch transmission. The Z51 offers the higher performance Michelin’s Pilot Sport 4S tires in a staggered 19/20-inch set-up, and the larger mono block Brembo brakes offer plenty of stopping power. As an added bonus, Z51 package also includes the NPP Performance Exhaust which offers an additional 5-hp over the standard version and its soundtrack is a welcome addition when you’re being aggressive with the throttle. This Torch Red Stingray is also showing the revised rear wing offered both in body color and in Carbon Flash Metallic that new for 2025s.
In the video, MotorWeek puts the Z51 Corvette Stingray through some spirited runs at the track, and it appears to do everything asked by the driver. However, some savvy viewers were disappointed that the video didn’t feature the voice of longtime host John Davis.
The video shares the pricing for the three levels of Stingrays with the tested price of this 2025 Torch Red Coupe priced around $100,000. What the video doesn’t say is that the Stingray market is now tilting towards buyers with discounts ranging as high as $15K on dealer stock Corvettes. That’s some real savings for a fantastic American sports car.

The 3LT’s optional Z51 Performance Package does sharpen this ‘Vette’s track focus, and it’s more than just a redesigned spoiler.
