To a Corvette enthusiast, there may be nothing more frightful than a long-abandoned car.
As we head into the Halloween season, YouTuber Dennis Collins of “Coffee Walk” pulls out all the stops to rescue two more long-ignored Corvettes being “held hostage” at an abandoned spooky-looking old house in Port Gibson, Mississippi.
The latest recipients of his efforts are a 1954 Corvette with a super-rare Pennant Blue paint code, one of just 300 such examples out of a production run of 3,640 units, and a more modern 1976 Corvette Stingray believed to be wearing some of its Medium Blue paint.

You’ve got to have the right tools to get the job done, and in this case, Dennis is super-happy about the team’s earlier decision to go all out with this rescue, bringing in pole saws, chain saws, and even an extendable-arm heavy-duty forklift that prove to be life-savers … and time-savers!
For example, the ’76, which had been abandoned since ’91, might not have made it onto a rollback at all without hours and hours of effort – thanks to the automatic transmission stuck in gear, three tires that wouldn’t hold air, a locked steering wheel that kept the wheels from turning, and two locked doors with no keys to be found!

The ’54 – though stored indoors behind the doors of a decrepit garage – proves to be the easier extraction, thanks to the extendable arms of the lift.
Like the ’76, the ’54 will require a lot of work to reach its original condition, but fortunately the body looks straight and the frame still seems to be solid.
The second-year Corvette will no doubt be the best bet financially out of this rescued pair, and we wonder what plans Dennis has for the ’76 since it’s not worth a lot even when in excellent condition, much less after paying for all the work this one will need.
