One of the first items I added to my 2025 Corvette E-Ray was the “Jake” All Weather Floor Liners which I purchased through our friends at Corvette Central, and I am amazed at how much dirt and debris these liners will collect over time. I would much rather have it collect there instead of allowing the dirt to get pushed into the regular carpeted floor mats which came with the car.
At first, I wondered if the all-weather liners would detract from the look of the car, but they are Jake mats with the C8 crossed flags logo so they look like the belong. I can always swap them out for the carpeted mats when showing off the car at a show. For me, this was a great accessory for helping to keep the car cleaner.
Chevrolet Performance recently released this video with Joe Trigeiro from Adam’s Polishes who goes over the steps of both cleaning the all-weather floor mats and then protecting them with Adam’s Polishes Graphene Ceramic Spray Coating for an added layer of hydrophobic protection and a longer-lasting, like-new finish.
Chevrolet Accessories also offers a Floor Liner Cleaner Kit by Adam’s Polishes which is also featured in this video for $25 which includes the spray cleaner and Adam’s Tire Brush. You can also get these from your Chevrolet dealer which may have them in stock.
The process for cleaning the all-weather liners is pretty straight-forward. Remove them from your car, do an initial rinse to blast off any dirt or grime, and then use the brush and cleaning spray to scrub them down. The rubber mat and liner cleaner will foam up as you scrub, effectively lifting dirt and grime away from the surface. Once the brushing is done, simply rinse off the cleaner and then allow them to air dry while cleaning the rest of your Corvette. Once they are dry, you can then proceed to applying the Graphene Ceramic Spray Coating:
Applying the Graphene Ceramic Spray Coating
- Preparation: Ensure the floor liners are completely dry before applying the coating.
- Spray Application: Lightly spray the graphene ceramic coating onto the surface of the liner. Avoid over-saturating the area to prevent pooling.
- Even Distribution: Use a gray microfiber applicator to spread the coating evenly across the surface. Lightly wipe without applying too much pressure.
- Curing: Allow the solvent in the coating to flash off, leaving behind a durable ceramic layer that enhances the liner’s hydrophobic properties.
Sometimes we can focus too much on the exterior as it’s easy to see when it gets dirty, and of course you want your car to look good when driving around. This quick tutorial on cleaning the interior all weather floor liners, plus the bonus tip of coating them with the graphene ceramic spray is a good way to spend 8 minutes.
