Check out the lengths the guys at WD Detailing go to, just to have the opportunity to clean up a 1969 Corvette with a 427 engine.
Before owner Mark is willing to agree to letting them work on the 427, however, he wants to check out their abilities by seeing how well they do on his more common red 1972 coupe with a base 350/200 horsepower engine.

The two Stingrays – coated with years of dust now – have been stored in a garage sitting side by side, and just getting the red ’72 out of its spot to begin work back at the WD facility requires lots and lots of careful maneuvering around obstacles that include file cabinets. In fact, at one point, we’re shown the clearance between the Coke-bottle fenders of the two cars, and it has to be less than a quarter-inch!
But that isn’t the only tough task the guys will face. As they prepare to begin cleaning the ’72, they report they have to follow instructions from the owner not to use a pressure washer from the base of the windshield back to the drain vents on the rear deck lid, to prevent water damage to the car.

That requires WD to use a waterless wash for the first time ever to clean up the mid-section of the car, as well as the engine bay. They do get to use a pressure washer on the front, rear, and sides, and you’ll get to see the results of their hard work by the end of the video. The paint on the car isn’t perfect, but it definitely looks much better after all their efforts. As does the interior, which included the removal of mold as well as five dead mice.
Be sure to check out an emotional section near the end of the video, where the guys team up with Cleveland Power & Performance to fix up a 2003 Honda Pilot for a deserving young woman who had to use her life savings intended for a car, to pay for her father’s funeral expenses. Great Christmas story right here at the holidays.
