VW has announced pricing for the recently revealed 2025 VW Taos, bringing increased MSRPs for all but one trim.

The entry-level Taos S starts at $26,420 (including a $1,425 destination fee). This represents a $1,000 increase from last year’s Taos S trim. This base model includes standard heated front seats, 17-inch wheels, keyless start, LED headlights, and a new 8-inch central infotainment display, which includes support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Next, the midrange Taos SE trim is the only one getting a price reduction this year, a $270 one, to be exact, for a starting price of $29,320. VW likely focused on reducing the MSRP of that model specifically as it is in the middle of the range, which tends to be where the majority of sales happen for a vehicle in this class. The SE features standard 18-inch wheels, keyless entry, remote start, parking sensors both front and rear, adaptive headlights, a power driver’s seat, and upgraded wireless smartphone projection capabilities. An SE Black trim adds, you guessed it, black trim, including a black roof and a standard panoramic moonroof.
The range-topping SEL comes standard with AWD (which is optional on both of the lesser trims), 19-inch wheels, an LED lightbar connecting the two front headlights, ventilated leather seats, an upgraded 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, and ambient lighting. The SEL will set buyers back $36,120, a $1,180 increase from the outgoing model.

As a refresh, the 2025 VW Taos arrives with mild updates to both its interior and exterior, as well as upgrades to its powertrain and tech.

Outside, buyers will find a new front-end design, including a larger front grille, available LED light bar, and new LED headlights. At the rear, an illuminated VW logo and rear light bar echoing the one found on the front stand out as the most notable changes.
Buyers will also enjoy new wheel choices and be able to choose from a few new exterior colors as well.

Inside, the 2025 VW Taos gets a refreshed dash with a new floating 8-inch infotainment screen, an 8-inch digital driver’s display, and new capacitive touch climate controls.
All models of the 2025 VW Taos will arrive with an upgraded 1.5-lt turbo four-cylinder engine with a new turbo housing, updated piston rings, and new fuel injectors. These changes result in improved power output, rising from 158 hp in the outgoing 2024 model to 174 hp in the incoming 2025 model. VW has also ditched the dual-clutch transmission, replacing it with a new eight-speed automatic on all models.

VW’s IQ.Drive suite of safety features will come standard on every 2025 VW Taos. This suite includes adaptive cruise control with lane-centering, forward collision warning, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic emergency braking, and more.
The 2025 VW Taos will go on sale in the US later this year.
