Ultra-Rare 2007 Saleen S7 LM at Auction

Ultra-Rare 2007 Saleen S7 LM at Auction

Posted on January 3, 2025 By rehan.rafique No Comments on Ultra-Rare 2007 Saleen S7 LM at Auction

The Saleen S7 LM, introduced in 2017, commemorates Saleen’s motorsports achievements with exceptional engineering and design. A 7.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine delivers 1,300 horsepower on pump gas and up to 1,500 horsepower on E85 fuel. This powertrain propels the car to a top speed exceeding 240 miles per hour, enabling acceleration from 0 to 62 miles per hour in just 2.2 seconds.

Aerodynamic improvements play a crucial role in the S7 LM’s design. Inspired by Saleen’s racing expertise, a biplane rear wing pairs with a rear lip spoiler, diffuser, side skirts, air vents, and an enclosed underbody to enhance downforce and stability.

Lightweight, center-locking alloy wheels—19 inches in the front and 20 inches at the rear—are paired with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. The suspension system features unequal-length double wishbones and aluminum coil-over dampers for precise handling. At the same time, six-piston monoblock calipers and slotted, two-piece floating rotors provide exceptional braking power.

Originally, Saleen intended to produce seven S7 LM road cars, but only three were completed, solidifying their status as rare collectibles. One of these, LM-007, is set to go under the hammer at RM Sotheby’s auction on January 24, with expectations of fetching up to $1,100,000.

LM-007, a late-production S7 completed in 2007, was comprehensively converted to its current LM specification in 2018—the interior features Sparco seats with Alcantara and black leather upholstery, complemented by four-point harnesses. Alcantara also lines the headliner, rear panel, and A-pillars. Modern conveniences such as an adjustable steering column, air conditioning, power windows, and a backup camera make the car suitable for track and road use.
