  • Toyota transforms the Sienta into a configurable camper with help from Modellista.
  • New Juno trim includes five modular furniture pieces offered in four themed packages.
  • It is based on the flagship Z Hybrid trim, with a starting price of ¥3,654,200 ($24,800).

Transforming a daily driver into a cozy escape pod has become something of a pastime in Japan. From kei cars to full-size vans, local automakers and aftermarket tuners continue to respond with camper-ready upgrades. The latest to embrace the trend is the Toyota Sienta, a compact minivan that gets a clever new twist thanks to Modellista.

Originally launched in 2022 as a competitor to the Honda Freed, the third-generation Sienta is built on a stretched version of the TNGA-B platform shared with the Yaris. It measures 4,260 mm (167.7 inches) in length and comes with either a 1.5-liter gasoline engine or a hybrid system, available in front-wheel drive or E-Four all-wheel-drive configurations.

Toyota’s new Juno trim builds on this foundation, rethinking the rear cabin layout with versatility in mind. Instead of a third row of seats, the space is fitted with a customizable compartment that can be adapted for different purposes using a set of modular furniture pieces.

Sofa Or Study? You Choose

Buyers can choose from five individual modules, or opt for one of four themed kits: Chill, Refresh, Focus, and Comfort. Depending on the selection, the Sienta can function as a lounge, a sleeping space, or a compact mobile office.

The model also features six ceiling-mounted LED lights, special floor mats with black piping, and a Juno emblem on the tailgate. As with the standard Sienta, the interior features a deodorizing, water- and oil-repellent fabric upholstery which is available in black, fromage, or khaki shades.

How Much Does It Cost?

The Toyota Sienta Juno is based on the Hybrid Z trim and costs ¥3,654,200 ($24,800) for the 2WD model or ¥3,852,200 ($26,100) for the E-Four. This means it is ¥570,900 ($3,900) more expensive than the standard Sienta Hybrid Z with a five-seater configuration.

Individual furniture modules are priced as follows: the Bass Module costs ¥69,300 ($470), the larger version ¥72,600 ($490), the Cushion Module ¥20,900 ($140), the Side Table ¥31,900 ($220), and the Work Table ¥44,000 ($300). An optional air mattress, priced at ¥22,000 ($150), completes the overnight setup.

For full configurations, the Chill package is ¥165,000 ($1,100), Refresh is ¥220,000 ($1,500), Focus is ¥231,000 ($1,600), and Comfort tops the list at ¥330,000 ($2,200).

Improved Safety Features

Besides the Juno grade, the company has announced a few model year updates for the Sienta, focused on safety equipment. All grades now come standard with an electric parking brake, a brake hold function, automatic A/C, adaptive cruise control, driver emergency response system, and steering assist. Furthermore, a drive recorder is fitted to all trims besides the entry-level X.

No changes have been made to the exterior or interior styling outside of the Juno-specific elements. The updated Sienta lineup is priced from ¥2,077,900 to ¥3,322,000 ($14,100 to $22,500) in Japan, depending on the selected trim and drivetrain.
