Toyota has introduced the all-new sixth-generation RAV4, the new RAV4 is offered exclusively as a full hybrid or plug-in hybrid. While the exterior dimensions remain similar to the previous generation, the new RAV4 features a bolder, more rugged design and a completely redesigned interior.
Next-Generation Hybrid and Plug-in Powertrains
At the core of the new RAV4 is an advanced plug-in hybrid system powered by a 22.7kWh battery, offering a yet to be verified 62 miles (100km WLTP) of all-electric range. This next-gen setup delivers faster AC and DC charging, greater efficiency, producing up to 300bhp in AWD form, with 0–62mph acceleration in just 5.8 seconds. The front-wheel-drive plug-in variant delivers 264bhp.

The hybrid variant also benefits from multiple performance upgrades, including improved transaxle and battery components. Maximum power is rated at 188bhp for the AWD version and 181bhp for the FWD version, offering smoother and more responsive acceleration.
Arene Software Platform and Advanced Safety Features
Toyota’s new Arene software platform debuts in the RAV4, enabling over-the-air updates. It powers the latest generation of Toyota Safety Sense, offering quicker response times and a broader range of safety features.

New systems include Front Cross Traffic Alert, enhanced Pre-Collision System with improved object detection, Lane Change Assist, and a Rear Vehicle Approach Indicator. A new 3D Panoramic View Monitor improves parking visibility, while the Secondary Collision Brake helps safely bring the car to a stop following an airbag deployment.
Enhanced Digital User Experience
The RAV4 features an all-new multimedia system, powered by Arene, that is claimed to offer a faster, more connected experience.

A 12.9-inch customizable touchscreen provides intuitive access to key functions, while a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster displays navigation with integrated 3D lane guidance.

The new Toyota RAV4 will also be available in the performance-focused GR Sport trim, distinguished by unique styling elements and enhanced driving dynamics. UK-specific details regarding models, trim levels, and pricing will be announced in due course.
