Auburn, Indiana – Worldwide Auctioneers is gearing up for their annual Enthusiast Auction at its Auburn headquarters from April 25-26, an event that promises to be the biggest ever. This year’s sale will include three great, no reserve collections with over 150 cars, including all the vehicles from the Automobile Driving Museum Collection. As the only museum in the country whose cars were used on a weekly basis to give guests rides, this collection has given enthusiasts an authentic driving experience in the SoCal area for years. Proceeds from the sale will fund an ongoing scholarship program for automotive students, a real opportunity to buy a very cool car for a great cause.
The Enthusiast Auction will also showcase The Passport Collection, encompassing a selection of fine pre-war classics and European sports cars. Notable examples include a very elegant 1937 Mercedes-Benz 540K Cabriolet B by Sindelfingen, expertly serviced and accompanied by the original data plate and copy of original kommission paper, and a 1931 Auburn 8-98 Boattail Speedster, an iconic Alan Leamy design from its first year of production. European sports cars on offer include a highly desirable, matching-numbers 1967 Aston Martin DB6 Vantage with five-speed manual gearbox and chrome wire wheels, beautifully presented in Iconic Silver, and an expertly restored early production 1967 Maserati Ghibli 4.7 Coupe, in its factory original livery of Blue Sera over Senape. Also slated for the sale is a low-mileage 1995 Ferrari F512 M, one of the most sought-after modern Ferraris, sporting a vibrant Rosso Corsa over Nero livery, the final evolution of the twelve-cylinder Berlinetta Boxer.
Offered again at no reserve is The Great Outdoors Collection, a carefully curated group of vehicles intended for adventure use, assembled with keen attention to mechanical reliability. Aficionados can also look forward to the usual extensive selection of some of the best automobilia and memorabilia to be found.
“Auburn’s growth as a serious year-round destination for the sale and acquisition of great collector cars has never been more evident,” said John Kruse, Principal and Auctioneer. “This will be by far our biggest Enthusiast Auction offering to date, with the majority of vehicles selling at no reserve. Importantly, in the spirit of the enthusiast premise, many of the cars on offer can be enjoyed and driven, assembled as they were by enthusiasts who put them together for that very purpose.”
The Enthusiast Auction is scheduled to run in conjunction with the fifth annual Enthusiast Tour, welcoming aficionados back for this one-of-a-kind, quintessentially Midwestern classic driving tour that runs from April 22-25. Participants can look forward to experiencing unique private collections, specialist automotive stops, distinctive local attractions and some fine Indiana dining, before rolling right back into Auburn for the Enthusiast Auction itself.
“Here’s another great opportunity to blow off the winter cobwebs and do what we all love best; get out on the road again and enjoy our cars, the countryside and some one-off local automotive and historic venues with a group of friends and fellow enthusiasts,” said Rod Egan, Principal and Chief Auctioneer.
Enthusiast Week will run from April 22-26 at Kruse Plaza, Worldwide’s Auburn, Indiana headquarters. Full details on auction admission and bidder registration, as well as Tour registration, are available online at worldwideauctioneers.com. Consignments of quality cars are still invited and can be discussed with a Worldwide specialist at +1.260.925.6789 or [email protected].
