Called the MH4 900, this M4 has around 80 fewer horses than a Bugatti Veyron, which is not a comparison we expected to make

- Manhart extracts 922 hp from BMW’s M4 using forged internals and new turbos.
- Tuned coupe nearly matches a Veyron’s power while keeping its street-legal status.
- Carbon fiber overload includes aero parts, interior trim, diffuser, and bucket seats.
There was a time when 900 horsepower was the stuff of science fiction, tucked away behind velvet ropes and six-figure supercars. Now? It’s bolted into the front of a BMW M4, thanks to some insane upgrades from German tuning house Manhart.

The G82 BMW M4 is already a serious machine, offering the kind of performance that used to come with a prancing horse badge and a carbon-fiber obsession. But while the stock version is quick enough to scare your passengers quiet, the aftermarket world saw potential – and plenty of it. Tuning specialists have been lining up to push the limits, and Manhart is the latest to take things several notches past reasonable with its new MH4 900.
Instead of merely tinkering, the German tuning house dove deep into the M4’s S58 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six. They added a pair of larger turbochargers and a beefier intercooler, swapped in forged pistons and connecting rods, installed a carbon fiber air intake, and gave the ECU a firm talking-to.
The eight-speed transmission has also been reworked to handle the power spike. The end result? A staggering 922 horsepower and 878 lb-ft of torque. That’s a mere 79 fewer horsepower than a Bugatti Veyron, in case you forgot.
No Numbers, Just Hints of Violence
Unfortunately, Manhart didn’t disclose any acceleration figures for the MH4 900. With the standard model able to hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in as little as 3.2 seconds, we can only imagine how savage this modified BMW will be off the line. As long as the MH4 900 can put all of its extra power to the ground efficiently, it can no doubt dip well into the 2-second range.
Complementing the engine upgrades is a new stainless steel exhaust system with adjustable valves. Manhart also adds new downpipes with 200-cell cats that can be paired with the removal of the standard OPF filters. New 110 mm tailpipes with a carbon fiber coating have then been added.
Looks That Match the Bite
We’d argue the standard M4 handles just about perfectly, but that hasn’t stopped the tuner from adding new H&R lowering springs. It’s also fitted with a set of matte black wheels measuring 20×10.5-inch at the front and 21×11.5-inch at the rear, clad in 285/30 and 305/25 tires.
Several visual tweaks round out the changes. These include a new front splitter, aerodynamic front canards, carbon fiber side skirts, a larger carbon fiber lip spoiler, and a carbon diffuser. There are also heaps of new carbon fiber parts throughout the engine bay and several parts from the M4 CSL, including the carbon-backed bucket seats.
