If there were ever a modern automotive brand synonymous with perfection, exclusivity, and a dose of unfiltered automotive lust, it’s Singer. Their creations are more than just reimagined Porsche 911s — they’re rolling pieces of mechanical art, nearly impossible to obtain unless you have extraordinarily deep pockets and, frankly, the right kind of phone numbers saved in your contacts. This year at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed, Singer pulled back the velvet curtain on their latest dream machine: the Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe Reimagined by Singer, and naturally, it stole the show.

Singer’s return to Goodwood marks its tenth anniversary at the iconic hillclimb event, a milestone that coincides with the company recently surpassing 500 customer cars restored and delivered. But while that number might sound sizable, keep in mind the latest offering — the 911 Carrera Coupe — will be limited to just 100 examples worldwide. In other words, blink and you’ll miss your chance… assuming you were ever on the list to begin with.

This new chapter from Singer taps into the brand’s ever-evolving performance DNA, rooted in classic Porsche ethos but elevated by next-level engineering partnerships and jaw-dropping craftsmanship. Think Cosworth, Bosch, and even Red Bull Advanced Technologies — yes, that Red Bull behind F1 dominance — all lending their expertise to refine what started life as a humble Type 964 chassis from the early ’90s.

At its heart is a thoroughly reengineered 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six engine producing 420 horsepower, and it’s more than just a power figure. Singer, for the first time, brings variable valve timing and a combination of air-cooled cylinders with water-cooled heads to one of its NA engines. Revving north of 8000 rpm, it’s built for the purist driver who wants connection, feedback, and an analog thrill in a digital world. It even comes mated to a six-speed manual gearbox — a nod to enthusiasts who believe three pedals are non-negotiable.

Of course, this Singer isn’t just about what’s under the rear decklid. The transformation starts with a complete strip-down of the donor 964, followed by extensive chassis reinforcement developed with Red Bull’s structural gurus. That sets the stage for the lightweight carbon-fiber bodywork inspired by the wide-body Carrera Super Sport of the 1980s. It’s retro in spirit but sculpted for modern speed and precision. And yes, the lucky owners can choose between a fixed whale tail or a speed-activated rear wing, depending on their mood.

Two debut cars appeared at Goodwood this year, each tailor-made to their owner’s vision. One featured a stunning Celeste Passalacqua finish paired with a Mars Pink interior and stitched leatherwork that takes over 400 hours to complete. The other wore Giallo Segnale and had a motorsport vibe, complete with auxiliary rally-style driving lights and a fixed rear wing.

Mechanically, both showcase Singer’s relentless pursuit of excellence:

  • Four-way adjustable dampers with electronic damping and driver-controlled settings

  • Carbon-ceramic brakes peeking out from 18-inch center-lock wheels

  • Selectable drive modes including Road, Sport, Track, Off, and Weather

  • Custom interiors with stitched and burnished leather seams, available in exotic colorways and materials like velvet corduroy or Interferenza cloth

There’s even a clever party trick where owners can spec both road and track bodywork configurations, stored in bespoke flight cases for ultimate versatility. Yes, that level of customization.

But here’s the truth: for most of us, this car might as well be made of unobtanium. Singer’s process is entirely commission-based and begins with the owner supplying a 964 donor car. From there, the sky’s the limit, and so is the price — not that Singer ever discloses a figure. If you have to ask, you’re not in the club.

Still, Singer isn’t just selling cars. They’re offering an experience, a resurrection of Porsche’s golden age with modern-day engineering woven seamlessly into every stitch, every panel, every intake note. It’s automotive haute couture, measured not in MSRP but in memories, obsession, and legacy.

The Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe Reimagined by Singer is what happens when the past meets the future on the world’s most exclusive terms. And at Goodwood, for a few fleeting seconds up the hill, the rest of us got to watch that dream come to life.
