The Gordon Murray S1 LM Special

The only supercar I actually want these days wears a Gordon Murray Automotive badge. Ferrari? Gorgeous engineering, zero visual emotion. Lamborghini? Like staring at a Magic Eye puzzle—you’re never quite sure what you’re looking at.

Gordon Murray Automotive has already launched a slew of supercars—the T.50, for example, is a V12-powered work of art, limited to just 100 units and priced at £2.3 million each. The snag, of course, is that the T.50 is capped at 100 cars and costs £2.3 million… which overshoots my budget by, let’s see, about £2.3 million. That’s a stumbling block for many people I know. And with Gordon Murray Automotive now opening a Special Vehicles operation side hustle, prices are set to move in only one direction.

Gordon Murray Special Vehicles (GMSV) made its global debut at Monterey Car Week, unveiling its first two models—Le Mans–inspired tribute supercars. A new division of Gordon Murray Automotive, GMSV focuses on one-off commissions, limited-edition specials, and heritage-inspired continuations, expanding beyond GMA’s hand-built production cars.

The company aims to blend bespoke craftsmanship with Murray’s racing heritage, with its debut models paying homage to the 1995 Le Mans victory era racers.

The GMSV S1 LM is the first commission from Gordon Murray Special Vehicles, with “S1” standing for “Special One.” Inspired by Murray’s 1990s designs and his 1995 Le Mans victory, the car blends timeless aesthetics with high-downforce aerodynamics.

Inside, a central driving position creates a fighter jet–style cockpit, blending lightweight architecture with meticulous craftsmanship. Just five road-legal S1 LMs will be built by GMSV’s Bespoke division, with deliveries starting in 2026.

Gordon Murray Special Vehicles Operation - S1 LM - Side Hustle

The GMSV S1 LM debuts with an all-new, ultra-light carbon-fibre body, lowered roofline, and Le Mans–inspired aero package, including a splitter, diffuser, and dual-element rear wing for maximum downforce. At its core is a bespoke 4.3-litre V12 producing over 700 PS, revving to 12,100 rpm, paired with a gold-foiled Inconel exhaust.

The project emphasizes Murray’s seven design principles—particularly exclusivity, beauty, engineering artistry, lightweight construction, and driving perfection—creating a modern tribute to his original Le Mans-winning race car.
