The AMG C63 Finally Gets The V8 It Always Needed

What’s one way to make the current Mercedes-AMG C 63 S more appealing to enthusiasts? Simple: give it the engine it probably should have had all along. While AMG opted for a 2.0-liter hybrid four-cylinder in the factory version, a German tuning firm called Vuk Manufactur has taken matters into its own hands. The result is a C 63 S fitted with a twin-turbo V8, transforming it into the car AMG didn’t build.

We first showed you Vuk’s V8-swapped C 63 S earlier this year, but as it turns out, that was only the start of the company’s work on the current range-topping C-Class. It has now unveiled what it dubs the Vuk EVOlution X, a V8-powered C 63 S equipped with a bodykit inspired by the legendary Mercedes 190E Evo II.

Widebody Aggression

While AMG’s 2.0-liter engine leaves a lot to be desired in this super sedan, the car does leave the factory looking quite nice. But Vuk has left no stone unturned in overhauling the exterior, designing a body kit that’ll probably shock some AMG executives. Things start at the front, where there is a large splitter, complete with strengthening rods running into the bumper.

The 190E Evo II influence is clearest when viewed from the side. Custom fenders at both the front and rear dramatically widen the stance, giving the car a presence that sets it apart from any other C-Class. Black six-spoke wheels have been fitted, paired with newly designed side skirts that continue the aggressive look. And then there’s the rear.

Evo II Meets Modern Muscle

A huge wing has been added to the C 63 S’s tailgate, the kind of which would probably make the Black Series skunkworks team proud. Vuk has then fitted a new diffuser and custom badges. Completing the visual changes are several Petronas-colored accents, including on the splitter, side skirts, and diffuser.

Vuk plans to produce just 63 units of its V8-powered W206 C 63 S. It hasn’t yet confirmed how many of those will feature the full EVOlution X package, and pricing details remain under wraps. But given the level of customization and performance on offer, this certainly won’t be the budget-friendly option in the lineup.
