Big convenience, very little cheese.

Easy to Eat: A
Taco Bell literature claims these micro quesadillas are six inches long, but the crushed wad I last purchased was nowhere near that length. (I did a little food modelling for the photo shoot.) As the cheese-filling-to-tortilla ratio wildly favors the latter, there is little chance of anything squirting out of the Roll Up. The Cheesy Roll Up can be eaten with confidence with just one hand, no napkins required.

Staying Clean: A
As noted above, the caulk-like filling of the Cheesy Roll Up defies leakage, making for a super-clean on-the-road dining experience. This is the Roll Up’s primary appeal.

Taste: C-
Per Taco Bell, the Cheesy Roll Up is made with a three-cheese blend consisting of cheddar, mozzarella, and Monterey jack. Disappointingly, no particular cheese flavor is discernible, as the whole Roll Up presents culinarily as a damp, salty, paste-filled wrap that only approximately smells like food. The lack of any real dining enjoyment will likely limit the number of Roll Ups consumed.
Satisfaction: C+
One Roll Up’s not gonna do it, unless you’re a girl. A small girl. I recommend two, and no more. I had three once, and felt a little queasy afterward.
Value: C
Can’t beat the price, even if you feel inclined to purchase two Roll Ups. Of course, adding a beverage to your order—large drinks now run $2.79 at local Taco Bells—you’re suddenly over $5.00. And, we should all feel a little bad about dropping a fin on anything at Taco Bell.
Overall, even as a snack, the Cheesy Roll Up feels a little incomplete. Having one is a little like going to a good restaurant and eating only croutons. The Cheesy Roll Up is an excellent quick-order easy-to-eat road-trip snack, at least from a convenience perspective, it’s just doesn’t feel very much like real food.
