Tabnie Dozier | USA | Embarking on God’s Dream

Posted on October 17, 2024 By rehan.rafique No Comments on Tabnie Dozier | USA | Embarking on God’s Dream

EMMY-Award Winning Journalist | Storyteller | Media Specialist

Philanthropist | Content Creator

Imagine a little girl, wide-eyed and curious, glued to her TV screen as Robin Roberts, Oprah Winfrey, and Gwen Ifill delivered the news. These women weren’t just journalists; they were heroes. They looked like her—professional, powerful, and magnetic. For Tabnie Dozier, those moments sparked a dream that would lead her down a path of storytelling, resilience, and divine purpose. Fast forward to today, and Tabnie has become a beacon of inspiration herself—an Emmy Award-winning journalist, a dynamic content creator, and a fierce advocate for equal rights. But her journey to this point was far from straightforward. In high school, Tabnie’s world revolved around basketball. She was a star on the court, and basketball was her ticket to college—or so she thought. Then, just six games into her senior year, disaster struck: a torn ACL. Her dreams of playing basketball were crushed, but Tabnie wasn’t one to stay down for long. Thanks to her parents’ insistence on academics, she secured a full scholarship to Western Kentucky University, where she majored in Broadcast News and earned a minor in Spanish. Graduating Cum Laude in 2011, Tabnie stepped into the whirlwind world of journalism.

From the beginning, she was a force to be reckoned with, working in markets across the U.S., earning accolades from the Society of Professional Journalists and the Associated Press, and securing the first Emmy for KOLO 8 in its 70-year history. Her rise in journalism was meteoric, filled with moments that most can only dream of. She covered devastating natural disasters, served as the Mistress of Ceremonies for countless causes, and, most importantly, told stories that mattered. But as bright as her career shone, dark clouds loomed in the background.

In August 2021, Tabnie received a call that would forever change her life. Her best friend, Stavon Williams, had died in a car crash. Grief hit her like a tidal wave. Stavon wasn’t just a friend—he was a brother in spirit, a man who believed in her dreams as much as she did. In the midst of her sorrow, she faced a heartbreaking realization: the industry she had devoted her life to showed no compassion.

When she asked for bereavement leave, she was told her friend didn’t “count.” The words stung deeply. As the grief consumed her, Tabnie knew something had to change. The corporate world of news had taken its toll, and she found herself questioning her purpose. It was in this valley of despair that she began to hear Stavon’s voice more clearly than ever before. He had always encouraged her to “own something of your own,” and now, in the depths of her sorrow, she understood what he meant.

In August 2022, exactly one year after Stavon’s passing, Tabnie took a leap of faith. She left the world of TV behind and launched Tabnie Dozier Enterprises, LLC—a media company dedicated to storytelling in its truest, most heartfelt form. From press release distribution and event planning to public speaking and media consulting, her new venture was a reflection of the skills she had honed over her 15-year career. But it was more than that—it was a step toward healing, toward living a life aligned with God’s purpose for her.

Tabnie’s journey is one of resilience, faith, and embracing the unknown. She speaks openly about her fears, her doubts, and the moments when she wasn’t sure what the future held. But through it all, she remains committed to God’s plan, trusting that He will lead her where she needs to be. Her company now offers everything from media training to crisis communication, and she does it all with the same passion that fueled her journalism career. Her message to others is clear: “You are enough, and God’s purpose for you is already within you.”

Throughout her journey, Tabnie has leaned on her faith and scripture to guide her. Here are some of the key verses that have carried her through tough times:

Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV): “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” This verse has been Tabnie’s anchor, reminding her that even in the darkest moments, God’s plan for her life is greater than she can imagine.

Philippians 4:13 (NKJV): “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

A declaration of strength, this verse reminds her daily that she can overcome any obstacle with God’s power.

Psalm 46:10 (NIV): “Be still, and know that I am God.”

In times of uncertainty, this verse has been a source of peace, reminding Tabnie to trust in God’s timing and plan.

As a “God-preneur,” Tabnie is now carving out her own path, one not defined by corporate metrics or the demands of 24-hour news cycles, but by the connections she makes and the lives she touches. Her journey is a testament to the power of faith, friendship, and resilience. Tabnie Dozier is living proof that when you let go and trust in God’s plan, life can take you to unimaginable heights. Her work as an entrepreneur includes public speaking, media consulting, and training. She is passionate about telling stories that uplift and inspire, and she encourages everyone she works with to pursue their own God-given purpose.

Young readers can take away a powerful lesson from Tabnie’s story—dream big, but don’t be afraid to pivot when life takes unexpected turns. The setbacks you face might just be the preparation for the greatest comeback of your life. Tabnie’s story is proof that with faith, resilience, and a heart full of purpose, anything is possible. I hope this expanded version continues to inspire! You might also find it helpful to dive deeper into books like “The Purpose Driven Life” by Rick Warren or “The Dream Giver” by Bruce Wilkinson to complement Tabnie’s faith-driven journey.
