Synergy Members Gather for ‘Career-Changing’ Forum

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Synergy Solution Group, a network of peers in the commercial HVAC industry, hosted its 2025 Construction Forum in San Jose, California, from July 21 to July 23.

The event brought together 40 construction professionals from across the country to share ideas, explore new technologies, and learn from one another through open conversations and real-world examples, a press release from Synergy said.

The forum opened with a session led by Shaabini Alford of Maxim Consulting Group, who encouraged attendees to focus on alignment between the field and the office. She shared tools to improve forecasting, increase productivity, and build trust through clear expectations and communication. The day continued with a session called “Power of Peers,” during which members shared their strengths and discussed challenges in small groups, offering advice based on their experiences.

“This Construction Forum has been career-changing for me,” said Matt Noel of IMCOR. “The information was great and it was great networking with like-minded people.”

The next morning, members discussed where they’ve found success and where they continue to struggle with prefabrication. The conversation reinforced the importance of input from the field, accurate modeling, and tracking over time to improve performance, Synergy’s press release said.

That afternoon, members toured Western Allied Mechanical’s shop in Union City, California, where they got a behind-the-scenes look at the company’s planning, coordination, and prefab operations. The day wrapped up with a panel on BIM — building information modeling — during which five members shared approaches to implementation, collaboration with the field, and lessons learned from remodeling and new construction projects.

“I met a lot of impactful people in the industry who are helping grow and promote the industry to new generations,” said Rex Pitsinger of MSD Inc.

The final day focused on tools and technology that members are using to improve project visibility and team communication. There was also a a “Synergy Showdown,” during which members walked through their forecasting dashboards, productivity tracking, and project management tools.

The forum wrapped up with a conversation on how members are testing artificial intelligence (AI), using it to review contracts, automate tasks, or write code, but always with a human in the loop to double-check results.

“A young motivated individual like myself was able to sit with multiple presidents of multiple companies and get their undivided attention and ask questions and gain knowledge,” said Cassidy Smith of Atomatic Mechanical Services Inc. “I never would have this opportunity outside of this atmosphere.”

“It is clear the Synergy team put a lot of energy and effort into making this forum useful for all involved,” said Kevin Bishop of Warwick Mechanical Group.

“The best part of the 2025 Construction Forum was being able to attend and have everyone open their arms like you’re part of a family,” said Jade Cacpal of Oahu Plumbing and Air Conditioning.
