Six reasons to join us at Le Mans Classic in 2025

For those in the know, The Le Mans Classic typically takes place biannually and the last standalone event was in 2022. However, it returned in 2023 to celebrate the centenary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans – that was one celebration too good to miss! Hosted, as always, at the stunning Circuit de La Sarthe the event takes place from 3 – 6 July 2025, it’s one of the most exciting events on the motorsport calendar, and here’s what you can expect…  

There are now nearly 700 race cars going wheel-to-wheel at the Le Mans Classic.  These span from 1923 all the way through to 1981 – with priority always going to the vehicles that have competed in the Le Mans 24 hours previously. There are more cars than ever before, as well as six grids each representing a different era of the sport, as well as Group C and Endurance legends thundering around the circuit. That’s not all – and we are quoting Peter Auto here – slower cars are still required to have a ‘traditional Le Mans start’. You know, with the driver outside the car…

While the racing is, of course, excellent, the Le Mans Classic isn’t just about the competition. It’s a festival of motorsport, featuring exhibitions, parades, clubs and even a ‘retrospective’ car show, where iconic cars from the past are displayed, allowing fans to get up close to classic road and racing machines.

If you are a lover of everything classic, then this is the show for you. There are over 9,200 cars on show, along with plenty of brands and exhibitors showcasing racing memorabilia, accessories and breathtaking vintage vehicle collections. 

One of the stand-out features of the Le Mans Classic is their access-all-areas approach (if you have a Paddock Pass, that is). You can get properly up close to the cars and watch the mechanics at work, which is a rare treat that you wouldn’t get anywhere near at a modern racing event.

The weekend presents a unique opportunity to see classic and vintage race cars competing throughout the night, separating the Le Mans Classic from other events. There is a great mix of live music and DJ sets across the weekend, should you need a break from the cars.
