An American performance icon returns.
Shelby is a hallowed name in the world of performance and racing, especially known for creating American performance legends like its Mustang-based creations and the Cobra. One of those is the Shelby GT350, based on the Ford Mustang, which has been a staple example of Shelby’s engineering and performance excellence for nearly 60 years, with the first iteration being introduced on January 27, 1965.
Almost exactly 60 years later, Shelby American has now revealed the new 2025 Shelby GT350 and the 2025 Shelby GT350R, bringing back the celebrated icon for a new generation. With as much as 810 horsepower, the new 2025 Shelby GT350 is the most powerful Shelby GT350 yet. Versions with a 480-horsepower engine and an 810-horsepower engine are available, with both being 5.0-liter V8s, and the latter being a supercharged variant.
The new 2025 Shelby GT350 also receives the boons of an upgraded suspension, revised styling, an upgraded exhaust, and the choice of an automatic or manual transmission. Sat below the flagship Shelby Super Snake, the MSRP of the new GT350 starts at $109,999.
Alongside the new 2025 Shelby GT350 is the new racing-ready Shebly GT350R, with 830+ horsepower and a six-speed manual transmission. Racing-focused engineering and carbon fiber throughout makes the street-legal yet track-focused vehicle perfect for quick lap times, and it uses solutions derived from Shelby’s upcoming Trans Am-spec race car.
To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the legendary Shelby GT350, the production number of 2025 Shelby GT350 examples will match the number of cars made by Shelby American in 1965, which was 562. Limited Shelby GT350 examples will be made for purchase through Ford dealers, while 36 2025 Shelby GT350R models will be made to be purchased directly through Shelby American. With the introduction of the new 2025 model, the 60-year legend of the Shelby GT350 opens a new chapter for an American performance legend.
