If the original Rimac Nevera rewrote the rules of what an electric hypercar could do, the new Nevera R just tore up the rulebook entirely. In a stunning display of engineering dominance, Rimac’s latest high-performance EV not only beat the records set by its own predecessor — it set an astounding 24 new world performance benchmarks, including reclaiming the coveted 0-400-0 km/h title with a blistering 25.79-second run.

For context, that’s over two seconds quicker than the previous record, which the original Nevera held at 29.93 seconds. In the world of ultra-high-performance cars, trimming off even a few tenths is a major feat. Rimac just erased four full seconds.

The Nevera R isn’t just faster in one category. It’s faster in every measurable way. Rimac didn’t settle for a minor refresh. They rebuilt the hypercar’s core systems to push the limits of electric performance even further. Highlights of its updated record-breaking stats include:

  • 0-60 mph in 1.66 seconds

  • 0-100 km/h in 1.72 seconds

  • 0-200 km/h in 3.95 seconds

  • 0-300 km/h in just 7.89 seconds

  • Top speed of 431.45 km/h (268.2 mph)

  • Quarter-mile in 7.90 seconds

  • Standing mile in 19.71 seconds

These numbers aren’t just impressive on paper. They were independently verified by Dewesoft and achieved at the same Automotive Testing Papenburg (ATP) track in Germany where the original Nevera made headlines in 2023.

What makes the Nevera R even more impressive is that it reaches new heights without sacrificing daily usability. Mate Rimac, the company’s founder and CEO, emphasized that the car retains much of the comfort and practicality of the standard Nevera, even as it pushes past performance limits that once seemed untouchable. As he put it, “Breaking records is in our DNA, and we won’t stop here.”

So how did Rimac pull it off? It started with a significant overhaul of the Nevera’s major systems. A new aerodynamic package, including a fixed rear wing and larger diffuser, boosts downforce by 15 percent and improves aerodynamic efficiency by 10 percent. Michelin Cup 2 tires were also added to reduce understeer and increase lateral grip, giving the car more bite in corners and stability at extreme speeds.

The heart of the Nevera R remains its four-motor electric drivetrain producing 2,107 horsepower, but the secret sauce is in how Rimac’s next-generation All-Wheel Torque Vectoring system manages all that power. The system recalculates power distribution to each wheel 100 times per second, ensuring razor-sharp traction and control under acceleration, braking, and cornering.

Here are just a few of the standout performance gains compared to the original Nevera:

  • 0-100 mph in 2.96 seconds (down from 3.21s)

  • 0-400 km/h in 17.35 seconds (down from 21.31s)

  • 0-400-0 km/h in 25.79 seconds (down from 29.93s)

  • 0-250-0 mph in 26.20 seconds (down from 31.41s)

With the Nevera R, Rimac hasn’t just made the world’s fastest electric hypercar — it’s made the world’s fastest production car, full stop. The fact that it delivers these blistering numbers with zero tailpipe emissions only adds to the achievement.

This latest round of record-setting runs also serves as final validation ahead of customer deliveries, proving that the Nevera R isn’t a track-only prototype. It’s a production-ready machine engineered to change what we expect from EVs — and from hypercars in general.

In a market where performance often takes years to evolve, Rimac has done it in one generation. Again.
