Grant Stahla, Co-owner of Stahla Services, a nationwide provider of restroom, shower, and ADA trailer rentals again joins Enterprise Radio.
Listen to host Eric Dye & guest Grant Stahla discuss the following:
(Host Eric Dye) Why are restroom trailers key for Omaha construction sites?”
(Guest Grant Stahla) Yeah, well, you wouldn’t think that would be the situation for restroom trailers to be a key component of these Omaha construction sites. But boy, let me tell you, when it’s cold and blowing snow and people’s hands are cold, you need to go in a space that’s heated. It has got hot running water where you can go use the restroom, have a break, in peace and then go back out and get to work. Construction sites in Omaha, NE, they need a restroom trailer. They need a place for customers and employees to be able to go if they’re shutting down restrooms, they need a place for construction workers to go to, to have a reset and go back out and just perform well, think better and have a better working experience. So those are some of the key reasons to have a restroom trailer out at a construction site in Omaha, NE.
(Host Eric Dye) And taking that further, how do you customize trailers for Omaha’s weather?
(Guest Grant Stahla) Yeah. it gets really cold, gets really hot in Omaha, NE. So when it’s really cold, one of the things that that we do, we make sure that all of our trailers at Stahla Services have heaters. They’re insulated. They have on the very bottom of the trailers, there’s a waste tank and so we make sure those are heated and then there’s a valve at the end of the waste tank to be able to pump out the waste tanks and we make sure that’s heated so everything around is insulated. It’s heated in the summer temperatures, we have a nice big air conditioner to pump cold air in and make sure each stall is cool. In the winter, another thing that we do is we can bring in skirting. So we have trailers skirting to go around the trailer and make sure that underneath of it stays warm. So we keep that hot air underneath of it and make sure the whole trailer experience is one where you don’t show up in the morning and have all of the water blinds frozen over because it was so cold, so those are some of the customizations that we do in Omaha, NE for restroom trailers.
(Host Eric Dye) And looking at mistakes, what’s a mistake construction firms make with site facilities, and how can they improve?
(Guest Grant Stahla) Yeah, I mean that’s a really important question ’cause, we specialize in restroom trailers and shower trailers and love to serve Omaha, NE. One thing that we see as a mistake often is not getting enough stalls, so making sure that you have – if you’re serving 50 employees that are there Monday to Friday to four, you need to make sure you have enough stalls. So maybe you need a six stall restroom trailer for those fifty employees so that there’s enough stalls and work doesn’t have to slow down cuz people are are waiting in line. Everyone needs to use the restroom after lunch and that lunch break gets delayed or extended another 30 minutes because everyone’s waiting in line. Another thing is we’re at several sites. We’re at Norfolk Iron up in Norfolk, NE supporting that manufacturing facility. We’re at ADN in Columbus, NE. It’s a big agricultural facility where that process, agricultural products and data centers in Omaha, NE and these sites are huge. So making sure that maybe you have a few smaller trailers, you have them all over the site. And so that when people do need to use the restroom, or if you’re doing a locker room, a shower trailer, you make sure that you have facilities within. I would say a couple 100 yards of where people are, where they’re working so that they don’t have to take an hour off and go walk to a trailer restroom trailer that’s a mile away. So I would say not having enough stalls and then if you have a big site which is a lot of the locations that we go to are big, big sites and big facilities, big data center buildings, making sure you have enough smaller trailers around to be able to be within a couple 100 yards of where people are working.
(Host Eric Dye) How do you serve nearby Council Bluffs or Fremont?
(Guest Grant Stahla) Man, Council Bluffs and Fremont, two awesome places we really enjoy going to those locations with restroom trailers, shower trailers, we do remodels in both locations, big commercial facilities. Council Bluffs and Fremont, we go to with restroom trailers for weddings. So if someone has a wedding out on their acreage, we’re able to bring a restroom trailer out and support their wedding in Fremont or Council Bluffs. So it’s those are great places we we really enjoy serving them. We can absolutely travel and and bring a trailer, restroom, trailer, shower trailer to those locations. So yeah, no problem at all. And two of our our most liked locations.
(Host Eric Dye) How can businesses enhance worker morale with better sanitation?
(Guest Grant Stahla) Yeah. Yeah, that’s a great question and something we love talking about because I mean, imagine you’re at a big construction site and it’s 100° out. Would you rather use a porta potty or would you rather go in an air conditioned restroom trailer? I think that the answer is obvious on this one. It’s so hard to find good people. It’s so hard to find good plumbers, electricians, handyman and framers and metal workers. We want to make sure that we’re treating our people right. We keep them. We keep them engaged. We keep them employed longer and we make sure that their work is more pleasant. We have a rest break for them so that they can think more clearly. So that’s some of the things that that we do by providing a restroom trailer, you can have it be air conditioned. Like I said, if it’s really hot out and then if it’s really cold out, they’re all insulated, they’re all heated. We have running water. We have a sound system, so you can’t hear your neighbor. There’s private stalls. It’s just a really pleasant experience for people, so I would highly recommend getting a restroom trailer rental for your employees and boosting employee morale at your sites, or even at – we’re at Targets and Costco’s and Sam’s Clubs and Walmart’s when they have construction on the restrooms and they keep their stores open and that helps their employees. Their employees don’t wanna go to a plastic porta potty when they’re working real hard inside the building and they have to go outside the building to use the restroom. Well, you want a restroom trailer. I mean, it’s just one of those core things that we need as a good reset to be able to go do that and then go back into work and perform well. You just you need a restroom trailer. You need running water. So that’s what I would say. I obviously I’m a little biased, but also who doesn’t like having actual good clean running water to be able to wash your hands after using the restroom?
