Hello, I am in the same situation as you, 0.8L of OW20 oil for 1000 km and I have 130,000 km. > I am looking for the Volvo procedure because it is not normal. I found a lead with a TJ SE 35366 : For a Type 155 / Eng 79 / Eng Desc D4204T9 / Year 2016-2018 / struc week range : 201517 -201823 ——————– 1. Perform oil consumption test according to VIDA Information – Repair – Cleaning, Inspection and Adjustment -2 Engine with mountings and equipment – 22 Lubrication and Oil system – 220 General – Oil consumption test. If the results confirm excessive oil consumption outside of specification, follow next step. 2. Check the engine for external oil leakage to exclude other reasons for high oil consumption. Note! (Only valid for engine AR, AD, A8, 76, 73, A7, A4, 68 Model year 2014-2016) perform a visual check on the turbo charger outlet hose quick connector. If there are traces of oil moisture, remove the outlet hose to inspect. Note! There will always be a small amount of oil in the hose, but there should not be an excessive amount of oil dripping or running from the outlet, see attachment TJ35366.jpg. If an excessive amount is found which could lead to oil consumption, it could be a fault with one of the turbo chargers. 3. Perform valve leakage test according to VIDA: Information Repair Cleaning, Inspection and Adjustment 2 Engine with mountings and equipment 21 Engine 211 Cylinder head Leakage detection, valve. – If no leakage is found, replace the short block according to VIDA: see Planning, Parts, 21 Engine, 212 cylinder block and Information Removal, replacement and installation, 21 Engine, 212 cylinderblock. – If leakage is found, replace inlet valves and re-use exhaust valves. Re-lap all valves according to VIDA: Information Repair Cleaning, Inspection and Adjustment 2 Engine with mountings and equipment 21 Engine 211 Cylinder head Inlet valve and attachment TJ35366- 1.jpg. Once valves have been lapped in and to be sure the lapping has been successful, use leakage detection valve before you refit the cylinder head to the engine block. If valve leakage still remain, repeat the lapping process until the valves are seated. Use fine abrasive paste and a wooden lapping tool. This fine abrasive paste and tool can be bought in any shop that provides car parts. Replace the short block according to VIDA: see Planning, Parts, 21 Engine, 212 cylinder block and Information Removal, replacement and installation, 21 Engine, 212 cylinderblock. Measure the piston heights on the short block and follow VIDA specification for ordering cylinder head gasket. The engine oil, oil filter and front crank seal shall also be exchanged. Note! Replacement of timing belt is not included in this repair method! Follow Volvo service schedule.
