A Masterpiece on Wheels (Sort Of)

Collecting Cars has once again proven its global reach and influence, selling a unique 1:1 scale wireframe sculpture of the Porsche 934 for an astonishing £201,000. Created by acclaimed artist Benedict Radcliffe, this hand-crafted artwork isn’t just a tribute to the iconic race car – it’s an automotive statement piece.
More Valuable Than a Classic 911 Turbo

To put this into perspective, the sculpture sold for more than triple the price of some well-preserved 930-series 911 Turbos. In fact, a low-mileage 911 Turbo recently went for £180,500 on the same platform. The final price highlights the growing appeal of automotive art, blurring the lines between car culture and contemporary design.
Global Bidding Frenzy

The week-long auction drew over 6,000 views and 218 bids, with international interest spanning continents. The winning bid came from a collector in Asia, who now owns a piece that has travelled from Milan Design Week to the high streets of Beijing and Shanghai. This isn’t just a sculpture; it’s a globe-trotting piece of art history.
A Nod to Porsche Heritage

Radcliffe’s sculpture is a meticulous homage to the Porsche 934, famously raced in its eye-catching Jägermeister livery. Its minimalist wireframe design captures the car’s essence, focusing on form, flow, and that unmistakable silhouette. First displayed at the Larusmiani store on Via Monte Napoleone, it’s since become an international sensation, thanks to collaborations with Porsche China.
Collecting Cars: Where Art Meets Automotive Excellence

Edward Lovett, Founder and CEO of Collecting Cars, summed it up perfectly: “This sale showcases the breadth of automobilia available on our platform and the power of our community. We can’t wait to see this sculpture become a centrepiece in its new home in Asia.”
