Since the dawn of the modern Corvette Racing program, there’s been a sect of ‘Vette owners out there trying to make their cars look more like their endurance title-winning counterparts. Whether this desire manifested in tell-tale “Jake” emblems, fully-rendered car covers, or the subtle tip of the hat that is checking the box for yellow paint, the idea of paying tribute to the Chevrolet’s wildly successful race cars with street ‘Vettes became so popular that the factory wound up piecing together multiple special editions aimed at fans of the “.R” program.
Now, Chevrolet might be hiding the next great optional nod to Corvette Racing on its Nürburgring-storming 2025 ZR1 test cars. The 1,064-horsepower monster is the first midengined ‘Vette to feature an aero-optimized hood. We’ve seen similar, frunk-ruining aerodynamics on high-end exotics like the Ford GT, Ferrari 488 Pista, and, yes, competition cars like the Z06 GT3.R that took the racing reins from the C8.R last year. One of the calling cards of the GT3.R, regardless of team and livery, has been the monochrome American flag that adorns the portion of the hood that dips down to allow air to pass straight through the front inlets.

The Red Mist car that’s been tearing up the infamous “Green Hell” has been boldly displaying its own take on this patriotic GT3.R staple for all of the hometown Germans to see. And, you know something? Those of us paying attention back at home absolutely love seeing the Stars and Stripes thundering around Europe’s toughest track!
Which brings us to you, Corvette Nation. Put yourselves in the shoes of the lucky few who will be taking delivery of a new ZR1 in the next year. If the GT3.R-style flag hood graphic makes it to the order guide, would you include it in your personal build? Vote below, and let us know your thoughts in the comment section.
