Last week, GM’s Corvette Team hosted an ‘All Person’s Meeting’ to discuss the achievements accomplished in 2024 and one of the guests was Corvette Racing driver Tommy Milner. Tommy shared this photo on his Instagram page showing a C8 Corvette Z06 GT3.R race car and the 2025 Corvette ZR1 that was used to test at the Nürburgring and driven at the ATP track in Papenburg, Germany for its official top speed run.
Tommy was there to give an update on Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports while also certainly talking about the first year of the new Corvette Z06 GT3.R which was featured in three different racing series: IMSA, WEC, and GT World Challenge America. The number of Z06 GT3.Rs continues to grow in numbers as more and more teams are making the switch. Last week it was announced that five Z06 GT3.Rs would be competing at the Rolex 24 at Daytona in January.
However, what really impressed Tommy was the discussion from the team members of their trip to Papenburg for the official top speed test of the 2025 Corvette ZR1. During a couple of days of testing at the ATP track, the Corvette Team along with GM President Mark Reuss set a new top speed record for the 2025 Corvette ZR1 with an average of 233 MPH.
Tommy says he gets a similar vibe from the Corvette Team as he does from the racing teams he has raced with. “Short deadlines, fast thinking, and using all available people and tools to squeeze every last bit out of the car,” he says.
From Tommy Milner via Instagram:
Last week I had the opportunity to visit GM and sit in on a Corvette ‘All Persons Meeting’ and talk briefly about the first year of the Corvette Z06 GT3.R racing.
The race car is certainly cool but getting to listen to many of the team members on Corvette talk about the process of going 233mph, the fastest ever by an American car manufacturer, was incredibly impressive.
The Corvette production team has a very similar feeling of the race teams I’ve been a part of in how they work. Short deadlines, fast thinking, and using all available people and tools to squeeze every last bit out of the car.
It would have been pretty cool to be a fly on the wall for that meeting! The Corvette Team had some pretty exciting achievements in 2024 and 2025 is looking even brighter as the Corvette ZR1 finally enters production.
Thanks again to Tommy for sharing this.
