Audi introduced the new-generation Q5 last fall and now the company has announced U.S. pricing and specifications. When the compact luxury crossover arrives at dealerships in May, it will start at $52,200 before a $1,295 destination fee.

});
That’s $6,800 more than its predecessor, which began at $45,400. Thanks to the 15% price increase, the Q5 now costs more than the BMW X3 and Mercedes GLC.
So, What’s Behind the Price Jump?
Audi didn’t provide an explanation for the steep price hike, so we reached out to ask if tariffs were to blame. A company spokesperson assured us that they weren’t, stating “We have not passed on the additional costs from tariffs to our customers and will hold pricing through at least the end of May.”

What happens after that is anyone’s guess. With the current state of affairs surrounding tariffs, especially given the unpredictable nature of the Trump administration, it’s hard to say. However, a recent report suggested that the Q5 could potentially face three new tariffs, totaling a staggering 52.5%.
The spokesperson also confirmed that while imports have been paused for now, they “continue to evaluate the situation in order to provide our customers with the most attractive product offering possible.”
Tariffs aside, the 2025 Audi Q5 Premium sports a stylish new design with a wider singleframe grille that is flanked by slender headlights. Buyers will also find a sloping roof and 18-inch alloy wheels.

The interior sports a minimalist design as the 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster and 14.5-inch infotainment system are the center of attention. They’re joined by leather front seats with eight-way power adjustment. Other highlights include illuminated door sill plates, a 15 watt wireless smartphone charger, and a larger cargo compartment that can hold up to 56.9 cubic feet (1,611 liters) of luggage.
Audi didn’t release a full list of equipment, but the entry-level model has an assortment of standard driver assistance systems. This includes adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and traffic sign recognition.
Power comes from a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 268 hp (200 kW / 272 PS) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque. It’s connected to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and a standard all-wheel drive system. This enables the crossover to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 5.8 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 130 mph (209 km/h).
The Q5 Premium Plus begins at $56,700 and features a lightly revised exterior with larger 19-inch wheels. Buyers will also find a heated steering wheel, a head-up display, and a Bang & Olufsen sound system. They’re joined by adaptive cruise assist and a bird’s eye camera system.

The Premium Plus also adds a dynamic interaction light bar that spans the width of the interior. It has a welcome function and can provide additional cues such as a sweeping motion to mimic the dynamic turn signals.
Moving up the trim ladder is the $60,600 Q5 Prestige. It’s notable for having an adaptive air suspension, acoustic front door glass, and digital OLED taillights. Customers will also find ventilated front sport seats, heated rear seats, and a 10.9-inch front passenger display.
The Q5 Sportback lineup is similar, but the model features sportier styling. This comes at a cost as pricing begins at $55,900 which is a $3,700 increase over its predecessor. Customers can also get Premium Plus and Prestige trims for $58,800 and $62,700, respectively.
SQ5: Power and Performance For a Price
The SQ5 starts at $64,800 which is an increase of $6,400. That’s not cheap, but the model is distinguished by larger air intakes, a more aggressive diffuser, and matte chrome accents. There’s also a four-tailpipe exhaust system as well as 20-inch alloy wheels.
The upgrades continue inside with leather and Dinamica upholstery sporting a diamond-stitched pattern. They’re joined by stainless steel pedals, carbon fiber trim, and a sport steering wheel.
A sport-tuned adaptive air suspension is standard as is a 3.0-liter TFSI V6 developing 362 hp (270 kW / 367 PS) and 406 lb-ft (550 Nm) of torque. It’s paired to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and a standard quattro all-wheel drive system, enabling the model to hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in 4.6 seconds before topping out at 155 mph (250 km/h).
Customer looking for maximum sporty can opt for the 2025 SQ5 Sportback, which begins at $67,600. This is a $5,800 premium over the outgoing model.
