I leased this car from a dealership in Texas. I had it shipped and it arrived yesterday. The fellow drove straight through over 1200 miles. He teamed up with another driver and they took turns. Thus far, very happy. No issues thus far inputing all my info and setting up the car. I had heard a bunch of horror stories about software issues. This car had the latest software update.
The keys are new to me from my 2017 XC90 T8. I have two credit card like keys as well as a small plastic key without any buttons. I recall with the 2017 that I also had a small plastic key that had a battery inside that was not serviceable. I believe this version can be charged by placing it on the wireless charger in the center console. I guess they no longer make a key with buttons?
The car drives ever so quiet and the Bowers and Wilkins is to die for. The Bowers and Wilkins was my motivation to get this car over the Lucid Gravity. Sound is everything to me.
The car feels ever so solid, when you open the doors and close same. Visibility is great. The seats are excellent, except for the fake leather. I had ordered a new 2025 way back when they first took orders. When the demos came in, I test drove one. The fake leather and the open oven window above turned me off so I canceled my order. So why did I change my mind?
I had recently test drove the new Lucid Gravity. The car is superb in driving characteristics. However, there were a number of enhancements that were yet active. Consequentl, my delivery pushed out in to October. I was anxious about the stereo system in the car. It is a Dolby Atmos system in the upgraded car. When I played it I was not impressed. That really worried me. The napa leather was great, but the stereo question was concerning. The salesman assured me that this car had the $3000 up graded stere.
Weeks later I saw a Youtube review of the Volvo Bowers and Wilkins. I then saw a number of reviews where they sang its praise. That was enough, as I recalled how I loved the Bowers in my 2017 XC90. So the die was cast. It did not hurt that I got a great lease on this car At roughly half the cost of the Gravity.
I have heard that the 2026 XE90 will have Napa leather and a chromatic roof. I just could not wait that long.
Now I need to sell my Tesla Model X and be done with Elon. I will miss the Falcon doors, but not much else
