Earlier today Motosikal dan Enjin Nasional (MODENAS), subsidiary of DRB-Hicom Berhad (KLSE:DRBHCOM) has launched its new logo and brand identity as well as launching the first Euro 4 Modenas Kriss 110 motorcycle to the Malaysian market.
This logo change after quite a long while if we are not mistaken and the change marks the brand’s ambitions for the future that focuses on global expansion, new technologies, and cleaner solutions. The new logo is still based on the MODENAS “M” symbol but in a bold, modern style, placed within a circle to convey precision and a renewed identity. Much like most of the brands these, days, they must feel a need to stay fresh and relevant. Compre the new logo with the old one below.
Tan Sri Syed Faisal Albar, Group Chairman of MODENAS and Group Managing Director of DRB-Hicom Berhad, Faizal Mohd Yusof, Senior Director of Industry and Development at the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), Azrul Reza Aziz, Chief Executive Officer of the Malaysia Automotive, Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii), as well as Roslan Roskan, Chief Executive Officer of MODENAS were present at the event.
“MODENAS represents a Malaysian-built legacy. We’ve established a strong foundation in Malaysia, but our ambitions extend far beyond. The mobility industry is rapidly evolving, driven by the urgent need for energy transition and growing concerns for environmental sustainability. With this, our renewed vision will see us bringing excitement that connects people and communities, by providing value, technology, and sustainable products globally.” said Mr Roslan.
In conjunction with the launch of the brand new logo, MODENAS unveiled an upgraded, eco-friendly variant of the MODENAS KRISS 110. This is the first Kriss variant to meet Euro 4 emissions standards and showcases MODENAS’ commitment to sustainability and compliance with global environmental regulations. Essentially the same 110cc bike like the ones still on sale (with disc brake or drum brakes) but with that cleaner engine.
As we look back upon MODENAS’ strategic collaborations with global manufacturers such as Kawasaki Motors Ltd, (KMC), Kwang Yang Motor Co., Ltd (Kymco) of Taiwan, and Bajaj Auto Limited (BAL) of India, these have facilitated expansion into international markets including Greece, South America, Russia, Thailand, and more recently China in 2024 with the locally assembled Kawasaki ZX-6R.
