Today marks the start of the MINI John Cooper Works (JCW) Track Day 2025 which not only serves to celebrate the new JCW models launched in Malaysia recently, but also commemorate the legacy of the JCW brand that is steeped in motorsport.
The three-day event (we’ve been told there are still some slots available), which takes place at Gamuda Cove from May 23-25, will see participants get up close with the latest JCW range that includes the 3 Door (in petrol and electric versions) as well as the Aceman. Some will get an even more intimate experience at the two dedicated performance zones set up for the event.
These include a 3.4-km MINI JCW Drive Zone where drivers will push each model to its limits with high-speed sprints and precision cornering. There’s also the MINI JCW Track Zone that is inspired by the legendary Kartodromo Parma circuit in Italy, a site where famous racing drivers plied their trade in the Karting World Championships and European Championships before making their way to Formula 1.
Offering a more technical layout, the twisting MINI JCW Track Zone challenges drivers with car control, braking tests under high loads, acceleration and traction management. MINI cars are often said to provide an unmistakable go-kart feeling, and the twisty course is the perfect place for participants to experience it for themselves.
In addition to the on-track action, a selection of the latest MINI models is also being showcased at the event, and there will also be various lifestyle activities to try out. Look forward to some exclusive promotions available until June 30, 2025 as well.
“It was an incredible experience to have been able to bring the thrill of MINI, maximised to its most exciting extent for both MINIacs and driving enthusiasts alike with the MINI JCW Track Day. With the full line-up of our new JCW additions brought to life on the track in both petrol and electrified variants, it’s here that our principles of ‘Technology Openness’ and the ‘Power of Choice’ truly came together, combining high-octane energy, razor-sharp go-kart handling, and pure driving excitement into powerful, corner-hunting machines,” said Benjamin Nagel, managing director of BMW Group Malaysia.
“Getting behind the wheel of a JCW model was a powerful reminder of what makes a MINI driving experience so unique – the responsiveness, the precision through every corner, and the unmistakable sense of connection between driver and vehicle. It is our hope that participants and MINIacs alike see this event as a clear reflection of the direction we are driving towards, where passion, precision, and innovation continue to shape the future of MINI and the JCW experience,” he added.
