In a high-octane event ahead of the Miami Grand Prix, IWC Schaffhausen brought together the worlds of elite motorsport and Hollywood. Joining forces were Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team Principal and CEO Toto Wolff, driver George Russell, and stars from the upcoming Formula 1 film—actresses Kerry Condon and Simone Ashley, along with legendary producer Jerry Bruckheimer.
For the first time, the boundary between fact and fiction in F1 blurred as the group offered exclusive behind-the-scenes insights into what’s being hailed as the most authentic, adrenaline-charged Formula 1 movie ever made.
George Russell reflected on his surprise podium moment with F1 movie lead Brad Pitt, sharing his thoughts on racing in Miami. Meanwhile, Condon, Ashley, and Bruckheimer expressed their thrill at filming at real Grand Prix™ events—capturing the roar, rush, and reality of the sport from the inside out.
Toto Wolff praised the film’s dedication to realism, noting how closely it mirrors the true spirit and intensity of F1.
A cinematic feat in its own right, the film was shot over two years alongside real teams during actual Grand Prix™ weekends—pushing the boundaries of sports filmmaking.
IWC Schaffhausen, expanding its motorsport legacy, is the official sponsor of ‘APXGP’—the film’s 11th, fictional team. From the track to the screen, IWC outfitted the APXGP crew with custom-designed timepieces worn by characters played by Damson Idris, Javier Bardem, and Kerry Condon, among others. Central to the collection is the limited-edition Ingenieur Automatic 40 with a striking green dial, inspired by the watch worn by Brad Pitt’s character, Sonny Hayes.
To celebrate this cinematic milestone and IWC’s involvement, guests were treated to an exclusive preview of the APXGP watch collection—where storytelling, speed, and Swiss engineering collide.
