MG has confirmed that its highly anticipated MGS5 EV will launch in the UK next month, followed by a European release in Q2 2024. With a goal to set new standards in the electric SUV segment, the MGS5 EV brings cutting-edge technology, a premium interior, and robust performance to the market.
Pricing and Model Variants
The MGS5 EV will be available in three variants: SE Standard Range – £28,495 OTR, SE Long Range – £30,995 OTR and Trophy Long Range – £33,495 OTR. Each model comes with a 7-year/80,000-mile warranty, reinforcing MG’s commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
Performance and Driving Range
The MGS5 EV is powered by a 170kW electric motor delivering 350Nm of torque and features rear-wheel drive for enhanced driving dynamics. The SE Long Range model accelerates from 0-62 mph in 6.3 seconds, with both variants offering five driving modes (Normal, Sport, Comfort, Snow, Custom) for a personalized experience.
The SE Long Range provides a range of up to 298 miles, while the Trophy Long Range offers 288 miles. The vehicle supports fast charging, reaching 10-80% in just 24-28 minutes.
Technology & Interior Features
Inside, the MGS5 EV features a 12.8” HD touchscreen paired with a 10.25” digital driver display, offering wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. The Trophy model is equipped with heated seats and a heated steering wheel for added comfort.
The interior also provides 453L of boot space, which can be expanded to 1,441L with the rear seats folded, making it a highly practical choice for families.
Safety and Driver Assistance
The MGS5 EV comes with the MG Pilot safety suite, including Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
Key features include Collision Avoidance, Lane Keep Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, and more, with customizable settings to suit individual preferences.
