Posted on April 8, 2025 By rehan.rafique No Comments on Mercedes Sales Down Across All Segments in Q1 2025

Mercedes sold 446,300 units in Q1 2025, down 4% from Q1 2024. All segments are down, with the Entry Level segment down the most.

Mercedes sold 446,300 units in Q1 2025, compared to 463,000 in Q1 2024, resulting in a decrease of 4%. All segments saw declines.

In the Top-End segment, Mercedes sold 65,100 units compared to 66,600 in Q1 2024 (-2%). The decrease comes mainly from the electric EQS, EQE, and S-Class models as sales of the Mercedes-AMG increased by 17% and the G-Class also increased by 18%.

In the Core segment, sales were 263,400 compared to 267,700 in Q1 2024, a decrease of 2%. The best-selling models were the GLC and E-Class whose sales increased by 14% and 32% respectively.

Sales in the Entry segment fell the most, from 128,800 to 117,800 units, down 9%. This drop is explained by the change of generations in the compact class. The new Mercedes CLA will debut on the European market in the summer of 2025 and in China and the USA in the second half of 2025.

Sales of electric models saw a further decline of 14%. Mercedes sold only 40,700 electric models in Q1 2025 compared to 47,500 in Q1 2024. Thus, sales of Mercedes electric models reached a very low share of only 9.1% of total sales. In contrast, sales of PHEV models rose 8% from 42,700 to 46,100 units.

By region, sales fell in all regions except North America, where they rose 4% from 74,000 to 76,900 units.

In Europe, sales fell by 7%, from 160,200 to 148,700 units, due to a 10% decline in the German market.

In Asia, sales fell 5% from 210,700 to 199,800 units. The decrease in Asian sales was mainly due to a 10% drop in the Chinese market.
