Mercedes-Benz continues to innovate with AI technology.
Deeply rooted in automotive history, Mercedes-Benz boasts a lineup that represents the state of the art when it comes to luxury, performance, and bleeding-edge technology, with its new generation of the CLA being the most technologically advanced Mercedes-Benz model yet. It’s been introduced with all-electric powertrains, while hybrid powertrains are soon to follow. However, in addition to the technological advancements in both the hardware and software of its vehicles, Mercedes-Benz’s latest announcement reinforces its commitment to the use of cutting-edge technology like AI in its production.
Centered at the Mercedes-Benz Digital Factory Campus in Berlin, Germany, Mercedes-Benz is innovating its digital production technology by enhancing it with AI and humanoid robots. In addition, its vehicles will benefit from the production of high-production axial-flux electric motors. These innovations have already played an important role in the production of the new CLA, the first vehicle to feature the new MB.OS operating system.
Apollo, one of the world’s most advanced commercial humanoid robot models, has been introduced to Mercedes-Benz manufacturing facilities, with a multi-million dollar investment made into Apptronik, a robotics firm, to underscore that technological advancement. The Apollo robots are currently collecting data from the production employees for specific use cases.
The development of a new “Digital Factory Chatbot Ecosystem” will allow employees to access databases with an incredible ease of use, asking questions about things like best practices or machine maintenance through a chatbot, with the AI able to quickly and accurately answer in multiple languages. With the constant pursuit of the best future technology, Mercedes-Benz continues to be a trailblazer in the automotive world.
