The team at Bloomington Gold announced Thursday that their annual June event will be held at World Wide Technology Raceway this year. The sprawling facility is located in Madison, IL just across the Mississippi River from St. Louis, Missouri – birthplace of Corvettes from 1954 to 1981. Bloomington Gold’s flagship June event was held the previous few years on the Campus of Illinois State University in Bloomington, Illinois.
Bloomington Gold 2025 is scheduled for Thursday June 5th through Saturday June 7th. The June tradition will offer all the core events we’re accustomed to, plus some exciting new ones. In addition to Survivor, Gold, and Benchmark judging, the Gold Collection, and seminars, Bloomington will be offering driving events on WWTR’s 1.25-mile oval track. There’s also an onsite Karting facility on which to test your skills and challenge your friends.
“Bloomington Gold recognizes that late model [Corvette] owners want to get out and drive their Corvettes. When offered the opportunity to partner with WWTR to host the Show, we thought this would be a great time to tie in new activities to attract a wider range of Corvette owner interests” says Guy Larsen, Bloomington Gold President. “Over the years”, he continues, “Bloomington Gold started to get the reputation of being a show only for early generation Corvettes. This is not true, and we hope by adding activities where owners can drive their Corvettes on a racetrack, we can re-introduce Bloomington Gold to these owners.”
Activities on both the oval track and the Kartplex will be a part of the 2025 Show. The World Wide Technology Raceway campus is located southern Illinois, five minutes from downtown St Louis and the famous Gateway Arch. The raceway’s 1.25-mile oval track hosts the NASCAR and IndyCar series races in addition to various events on their road course and drag strip. Their Kartplex features a challenging 11-turn course for drivers to tackle.
