The off-road-focused Scorpio and family-friendly XUV700 SUVs have been discounted as part of Mahindra’s end-of-financial-year specials.

Mahindra cuts $3000 off the price of Scorpio, XUV700 for EOFY deal.

Mahindra Australia will cut $3000 from the asking price of the XUV700 AX7L and Scorpio range as part of an end-of-financial-year (EOFY) special.

This means the XUV700 AX7L can now be had for $39,990 drive-away, which matches the price from earlier this year for model year 2024 vehicles, and is the same price as the entry-level AX7 grade.

However, the new price is applicable to MY25 cars, which gain a black interior, cooled front seats, and wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto over their 2024 equivalents.

Other standard features in the AX7L include LED headlights, twin 10.25-inch screens for the infotainment and instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, and push-button start.

All XUV700s are powered by a 149kW/380Nm 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, which is paired to a six-speed automatic transmission that drives the front wheels, returning a claimed fuel economy rating of 8.3 litres per 100 kilometres.

Seven-seat rivals to the Mahindra XUV700 AX7L mid-size SUV include the Honda CR-V (seven-seaters from $47,300), Mitsubishi Outlander (from $39,540 before on-road costs), and Nissan X-Trail (from $41,065).

As for the Scorpio off-roader, with a $3000 cut the price of the Z8 variant drops to $38,990 drive-away, while the Z8L is now $41,990.

However, this applies to vehicles that have yet to be updated with autonomous emergency braking (AEB), which are due later this year to comply with a new government mandate.

The existing Scorpios are powered by a 129kW/440Nm 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine, which sends power to all four wheels via a six-speed automatic.

Rivals to the Scorpio include the GWM Tank 300 (from $46,990) and Ford Everest (from $54,240 before on-road costs), although buyers will need to spend at least $59,240 before on-roads for the 4WD version of the latter.

Mahindra’s discounted pricing is running until June 30, or while stocks last.
