Limited Edition 2021 Ford GT Carbon Series Up For Grabs

Posted on August 31, 2024 By rehan.rafique No Comments on Limited Edition 2021 Ford GT Carbon Series Up For Grabs

Unveiled at the January 2015 North American Auto Show in Detroit, Ford’s new GT was an immediate hit, securing a class win along with third, fourth, and ninth places in its first race at the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans. The road-going version of the Ford GT, developed alongside the Chip Ganassi Racing/Multimatic race cars, is essentially a street-legal FIA LM GTE-class racing car.

Packed with high-tech materials and advanced performance features, the GT boasts competition-style pushrod-actuated dampers. Its aerodynamically efficient teardrop-shaped body narrows sharply toward the rear, with flying buttresses guiding cool air to the engine, and its rear fenders are reminiscent of modern track-only Le Mans prototypes.

Beneath the transparent mid-engine cover is a twin-turbo 3.5L Ford Ecoboost V6, delivering 660 HP and 550 lb-ft of torque via a Getrag seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. This powertrain allows the second-generation GT to accelerate from 0-60 MPH in just 3 seconds, with a top speed of 213 MPH.

This particular 2021 Ford GT Carbon Series, showing just 744 miles, is finished in Liquid Grey and features the Carbon Fiber gloss exterior and Carbon Graphics packages. The Carbon Series sheds around 40 pounds, with exposed carbon-fiber stripes, titanium lug nuts, and a polycarbonate engine cover for better ventilation.

Inside, the Sparco seats are covered in Carbon Alcantara with manually reclining carbon-fiber shells. Carbon fiber accents appear on the door panels, and the cabin is equipped with six-point harness anchors, a touchscreen infotainment system, and automatic climate control.

Additional features include an Akrapovič titanium exhaust, 20-inch carbon-fiber wheels, Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, an active suspension, a retractable rear wing, a rear diffuser, and butterfly doors.
