Since 2019, this generation of the Honda Passport has delivered rock-solid performance, good looks, leading technology, and even some off-road capability. However, with the all-new 2026 models already on dealer lots, this year’s model may present an opportunity.
The current model is motivated by a 3.5-liter 6-cylinder engine that produces 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. It features a 9-speed automatic and comes with all-wheel drive (AWD) only. That combination allows the Passport to tow 5,000 pounds, which is the norm for midsize SUVs.
Fuel economy numbers sit right in the middle of the competition at 19 mpg city, 24 mpg highway, and 21 mpg combined. Let’s check out what the 2025 Honda Passport offers inside.
Passenger Room and Comfort

The Passport comfortably accommodates five adults. The cabin feels very spacious, more so than competitors like the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Chevrolet Blazer, which offer similar head and legroom space. The differentiator? The Passport has more shoulder room, making for a more comfortable experience.
There’s plenty of space in the second row as well, and if you’re going to be back there for a while, it’s good to know this SUV can be had with tri-zone climate controls, making not only the driver and front-seat passenger comfortable with the temperature in their parts of the interior but also the folks behind them.
Features and Tech

Once you’re inside the Passport, you gain access to plenty of technology that’s intuitive and easy to use, such as the push-button gear selector. Mind you, the 8-inch touchscreen handling the infotainment functions may be a bit small compared to other vehicles in the class, but it’s clear and well-positioned.
The cabin offers a standard-issue wireless charging pad for two smartphones to go with the wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. If you don’t want to use either of those to find your way around town, the Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System provides 3D renderings of your surroundings, making it a snap to find your destination.
The Passport is equipped with a blind-spot information system, cross-traffic monitor, and a multi-angle rearview camera. Additionally, the Honda Sensing Suite comes standard across the Passport lineup. It includes the Collision Mitigation Braking System, Road Departure Mitigation System, Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow, Lane Keeping Assist System, and more.
Materials and Design
Honda has come a long way with the design and materials for its interiors, and the Passport is no exception. The leather-trimmed seats feature diamond-pattern perforations paired with high-contrast stitching, which makes the optional heated and ventilated seats more attractive. The TrailSport edition gets embroidered head restraints with the TrailSport logo.
For the driver, it’s a 10-way power adjustable seat with two memory positions. The front passenger gets a power seat as well. Even the dashboard and other non-fabric surfaces enjoy soft-touch plastics, making it look a bit more upscale. Designers made certain there was also plenty of interior cargo space, including a spacious center console.
Cargo Room and Flexibility

The Passport is a multipurpose vehicle. Need to get the kids to practice? Check. Want to go camping? Check. Track down the materials for that weekend project? Check. The cargo space with all the seats up holds an impressive 44.0 cubic feet behind the back seats.
Fold flat those 60/40-split seats in the second row, and you get up to 83.8 cubic feet. That’s enough room for four suitcases and a few bags or a week’s worth of camping gear.
