Leaked Mustang GTD Window Sticker Reveals Pricing And Shocking MPG

  • Mustang GTD MSRP leaked, confirming a starting price lower than many expected.
  • Despite that, it remains the most expensive Mustang ever at a base price of $318,760.
  • The 815 hp supercar returns just 10 mpg city and 12 mpg combined fuel economy.

If you’re still holding out hope that high-performance American muscle can go toe-to-toe with exotic European machinery, the Ford Mustang GTD might just be the poster child for that dream. After several years of buildup, it’s finally inching toward customer deliveries. And now, we’re getting our first real look at what buyers will actually pay for the most extreme Mustang ever built.

Forget those wild rumors of a $600,000 pony car. Ford itself told us it would be closer to $325,000, and this new documentation proves that right. Here’s how the numbers break down on what is, officially, the priciest Mustang to date.

Eye-Watering Power, Eye-Catching Numbers

The newly leaked window sticker has some eye-popping figures on it. For one thing, this Mustang will get 10 mpg in the city and 12 combined or, for those keeping score in liters per 100 kilometers, that’s 23.5 city and 19.6 combined. Ouch. Of course, that’s thanks to its 5.2-liter Predator V8 engine that makes 815 horsepower (607 kW). It can rocket from 0-60 mph in under three seconds and enabled one example to lap the Nurburgring in 6:52.072.

First spotted by a user on the Mustang7G forum, the sticker has a $318,760 base price on it and $15,200 worth of options plus other charges. Those include $10,000 for an exposed carbon fiber roof, $1,500 for red brake calipers, and $3,700 for what is a very appropriate gas guzzler tax. Destination and delivery is another $5,500.

Why so much more than Ford’s regular charge of around $1,995? We can’t say for sure, but we expect it has something to do with a covered transport hauler and specialized equipment to get this car wherever it might be going without any scratches or dents. That gives us a grand total of $339,460 before state taxes. Will that be what the customer pays? Who knows? But we expect to see dealers mark these up, whether they’re new or used.

Worth It, or Just Hype?

Now, we’ll turn our attention to you. Would you pay this much for a Mustang GTD? After all, it’s the most special road-going Mustang to ever leave the Ford factory. It’s highly customizable, wildly powerful, and will always have a special place in history. Between the power, rarity, and factory engineering, it’s got serious bragging rights.

Then again, there’s no shortage of alternatives. The Porsche 911 GT3 RS and upcoming Corvette ZR1 offer different flavors of performance with similarly eye-watering price tags. Either way, the Mustang GTD is here to stake its claim among the greats. Now your turn to sound off in the comments below!
