At this year’s DreamHack, in Dallas Texas, the global mecca for esports and gaming culture, there was one booth that drew the kind of crowd reserved for world premieres or pro esports finals. But this time around, it wasn’t about just a game or a celebrity streamer, but a supercar maker that stole the show. Lamborghini, Italy’s patron saint of speed, in a bold crossover between automotive engineering and the sim world, debuted the Versaro x Automobili Lamborghini simulator, a precision-engineered racing rig, which, in typical Lambo fashion, is a head turner.
Sitting alongside a Lamborghini Revuelto in Asphalt Legends livery for this weekend’s Esports Challenge, this sim was born out of a rare partnership between the Italian automaker’s Centro Stile and U.K.-based sim-specialist Vesaro. This machine’s edgy styling certainly excudes Lambo’s DNA. Made from a carbon-sculpted shell (available in several colors, including orange, blue, green, and yellow ) to the genuine OEM steering wheel from a Revuelto, every surface screams raging bull.
At its core lies the Simucube 2 Sport wheelbase that delivers 17Nm (12.54 pound-feet) of torque with uncompromising fidelity. Paired with Vesaro’s Pro-R pedal box featuring a 3mm carbon steel build and 80 Kg (176 pounds) load cell brakes, throttle, and braking input on this sim should transfer through to the driver with uncanny realism. For motion, dual-box actuators provide FIA-approved pitch and roll movement, bringing race-track realism to your living room.
No sim setup would be complete without top-drawer visuals and sound, and this rig delivers the goods, courtesy of a 55-inch Samsung Odyssey Ark display that wraps around the cockpit in 4K glory. The 165 hertz refresh rate, 1 millisecond response time, and 8.1 surround sound system should make for a truly immersive experience behind the wheel. But the real game changer is the G-Force Tensioner system with the integrated harness, which simulates deceleration and will compress your chest on hard braking.
The system comes pre-loaded with Assetto Corsa Competizione and Assetto Corsa Ultimate Edition, both calibrated and optimized at Vesaro’s HQ. It delivers a plug-and-play setup experience out of the box, packing one of the most accurate GT and sim racing environments out there. Available to order now, prices for the PRESTIGIO model start at £69,000 ($93,410). The ESTREMO variant, which includes extended motion travel, advanced haptics, and fully integrated FIA-grade hardware, is available upon enquiry.
So there you have it; the Versaro x Automobili Lamborghini simulator. In an age when every supercar maker is not only scrambling to define their place in the real world, but also in the virtual world, Lamborghini, it appears, is right up there with the very best, and I for one can’t wait to see what Centro Stile has in store next.
