Lamborghini Countach QV “Downdraft”

Lamborghini Countach QV “Downdraft”

Posted on January 14, 2025 By rehan.rafique No Comments on Lamborghini Countach QV “Downdraft”

Background on the “Downdraft”

Not everyone understands the huge difference between a carbureted European specification Lamborghini Countach QV ‘Downdraft’ and a fuel-injected USA specification Countach QV. The former is by far the most powerful & pure Countach variant built by Lamborghini SpA, with an over 100 bhp power advantage, more immediate throttle response, rawer sound, and an accordingly rewarding driving experience.

The moniker ‘Downdraft’ refers to the disposition of the car’s 6 Weber (44 DCNF) vertical twin-barrel carburetors, as used by the works for the carburetor version of the now-legendary Motor Tipo L 507 V4, affectionately known these days to enthusiasts the world over simply as the Countach ‘Downdraft.’

The most powerful

Those who love the Countach Downdraft may do so because they view it as engineer Guilio Alfieri’s stroke-of-genius return to the original Lamborghini V12 Downdraft concept—think Miura—or simply because it is the most potent production variant of the Countach ever built by the Lamborghini factory. Built from 1985 to 1988, the Downdraft represents the Countach dream.
